I really wish I could read the actual contract but from what it looks like from all the press (and if Im not missing anything), Mayweather would breach his contract if he chose not to fight. If the Commission approved the MX gloves, and Maidana chose to wear those gloves, then Maidana has done nothing to breach the contract. Now, if Mayweather wants Maidana to wear the Grant gloves, that would mean he is trying to modify the existing contract. All he has to do is provide adequate consideration ($money$) to Maidana. Only then, would it be acceptable for Maidana to enter the ring with anything other than the Commission approved Everlast MX gloves. Also, generally, there are no punitive damages in contracts cases. So, Floyd's not going to be facing any other damages than what Maidana was contracted to make, that plus an equitable estimate of the rest (International TV rights and such). Pretty much, I really really wish we could read the actual contract.

This is the same guy that faked a rib injury to move the JMM fight from the original planned date in July of 2009 to Mexican Independence day because ticket sales were sluggish. And for your information the grant gloves that floyd wears weigh more than the 8oz Everlast MX glove. They have extra padding...they are to protect hands. Also you are comparing apples and oranges one is foam/whatever grant use and the other is horse hair. Fill up 2 balloons with the same weight of horse hair and foam and you will see there is a huge difference. Do you really expect both gloves to look the same when both gloves are filled of different matter? Do you get it now? I dont know how more clearer I can make it for you...LOL

If TMT is going to make Maidana change his gloves. From the baby blue gloves that Everlast made for him to match his shorts on fight night. Maidana wants to wear the Puchers glove which is an Everlast glove. Mayweather wants to wear the Grant gloves. Which has padding to protect the fighters hands from getting hurt. Whatever the case maybe. Then team Maidana needs to make TMT change their gloves too. They can let Mayweather wear the same brand just not the glove colors he was planning to wear to match his shorts. I just think it's a mental thing with Floyd. Team Maidana is playing his game they need not to fall back to his demands.
