The difference is Fraud Jr.'s gloves have " |]|_|$$Y "inscribed inside the glove. Maidana's do not.

Why are people feeding into this. I guess something had to happen to try and sale this fight.

I would like to know how many of y'all think FMJ staged these two events(jackson and gloves) for PROMOTING PURPOSES?? First he let the fans choose between khan and maidana, and the majority wanted maidana. After he chose maidana there still were complaints that it wouldnt be competitive... Back then i allready posted that this was a good time to show everyone how good of a promoter he is!! He made a few powermoves that were smart, by putting on his card Khan and Broner. Those were good moves, but i think the last two moves jackson and glove gates are too good with the timing so close to the fight. i know gloves are tested at the last moment, but i just think these are his last aces. His last finishing moves to get the PPV's. FMJ is in his own league(promoting)... i wonder if jackson and the gloves incidents are also covered beside the internet on the television/media... My 2 cents i believe this too. there was nothing wrong with the gloves, just a publicity stunt and mind games

I was defending Maidana at first but after seeing the pic, that's a pretty appalling stunt. No wonder the commission rejected them. You're full of sh*t. This isn't even a story now, the red gloves were picked and approved then Mayweather turned them down, so whats the problem now?

I almost read through 6 pages of this BS , I think I got to page 3. Someone said something about Mayweather trying to mess with Maidana's head. Maidana shows no emotion and all I've ever seen from the guy are blank stares. I honestly think that Mayweather is scared, this is a good thing, if your not scared of your opponent then he has the upperhand.

I don't believe there's anything wrong with the blue ones either. They said no to them to please Mayweather knowing that the red ones are the same so won't make a difference to Maidana. That's my thinking, as well. In response to the protest, they opted to instate the backup pair.

No "benefit of the doubt" is needed. NSAC agreed that the blue gloves didn't have enough padding. Way to cherry pick my post. I could've said, "given the commission's judgement, we may all regard as an absolute and incontrovertible certainty that the blue gloves had some anomaly," and it wouldn't have changed my overriding point one iota; that being: that is why there is a backup pair, which the commission did approve.

I pretty much agree with this. But the first pair def matters. How the hell did that happen? I'm sure the fight will go on. I'm not worried about that. Ppl hate Floyd, but he was right to question those gloves. Ok, did they agree not to wear the blue ones? Did the Commision approved the red ones? That's why they have a second, third gloves if the 1st, or 2nd gloves doesn't approved by the opponents representative or the commission. But they have contract that it is an 8oz gloves and "any" kind of gloves. Guys stop it already, you just showing yourself as a fan boys.

The reason the blue ones came in seran wrap is because Maidana had a custom paint job to put the argentina flag on them that I assume was done by a third party. I believe Everlast makes the custom gloves themselves, not a third party.

Did I compare? No I said the gloves looked bad. They did. Multiple ppl said so on twiiter abd elsewhere. The commission agreed. The gloves look nearly devoid of padding. That is just truth. If this was any other fighter besides Floyd, everyone would be up in arms. Just stop. :lol1: I can throw a stone with my eyes closed at my gym locker and hit a pair of 18 oz gloves with less padding than those gloves. They were fine. They were out of the wrapper because of the flag logo.
