Ukrainian 2012 Olympic Heavyweight Gold Medallist Oleksandr Usyk (3-0-0 3KO) says he wants to break the record of Evander Holyfield in terms of winning a CRUISERWEIGHT title early in his pro career.
...In turn, the CEO promotional company of Klitschko brothers "K2 Promotions" Alexander Krasiuk said that Usyk and its promoters aim to break the record of the famous American boxer Evander Holyfield, who in 1984 became the winner of the Olympic Games, and in 1986 won the world title in the cruiserweight division in his 12th fight in professional boxing. "Our challenge is to beat the record time as the plan and the number of fights," - said Krasiuk.
Can he do it?

Correct, Usyk's trainer is Bashir. Rushed like Chakhkiev? He already paces himself better than Rakhim.
Aha, yeah, James Ali Bashir that's the one. I think Usyk is a quickly developing guy...and he will get a more solid pro style as he goes along, whether he's ready as early as 12 fights...we shall see.
Great, another olympic gold medalist that is going to get rushed.
Usyk has an amateur style, in many ways he is similar to Lomachenko whose father I believe trains the two.
He has the same flaws I seen in Lomachenko. No jab, no real inside fighting ability, that horrible earmuff defense with the same predictable three way twist.
He needs time to grow. He is a good prospect but like Lomachenko I don't care how many fights he had as an amateur he is noway near the finished article.
What champion are they matching him against? He isn't ready for Huck, Wlodacyrz or Hernandez
Good talent but they should stop rushing these guys towards title shots they are not ready for.
Na, he is trained now by that guy from Wlad's camp, forgot his name, the guy on the left.

I think he is fairly decent inside...but true, he has work to do with his jab to stiffen it up a bit. He could be pushed a little early and too fast, but I think he is a quickly developing guy. And I think K2 might do differently from Top Rank and not put him in there for a title unless he is ready.

Does he just want to win a belt or become undisputed?
The guy has got some real good potential. He's a southpaw, he's active with quite high and varied punch output...he has skills, good chin from what i've seen, and he's still young. He's not huge to be a heavyweight but he will fill out more and he's pretty big for a cruiser. I'd like him to be worked up responsibly and get a belt, then clean out the division if possible and then move up to heavy. He is just 27 years old, plenty of potential for the future if he is moved correctly.
well olympic heavyweight equates to professional cruiserweight
Yeah, but anyway, error or not, we all know what this is all about, since he's a CW right now.
It's a page translation, probably a wrong translation for the equivalent of the word cruiserweight, but obviously this is about the CW title.

He won the cruiserweight title, not heavyweight.

Holy won the Cruiser belt, not heavy. If Usyk is planning to move to heavy, then no way. In cruiser, yes, most likely.
