He is a good fighter with good hand speed and great Power and reflexes
But he needs to stop fighting so much with his hand down that is gong to get him caught with something big and possibly stopped.
He is not Ready for Floyd Period he would get picked apart but he would cause
mayweather a little bit of a trouble.
Also he needs to fight some bigger names I know Ghost did not want to fight him
He needs to fight a live body to really see were his boxing skill is at like a Devon Alexander
I do thing he will be very good welterweight possibly great
I really think With a little bit more seasoning he would would beat Tim Bradley
People need to shut up with the he needs to step it up crap the guy wants to fight the best in the division it's not his fault they keep ducking him. All he can keep doing is beat who is in front of him.
This is exactly why Porter-Thurman is the fight that needs to happen and personally the most appealing fight that can happen for me. You have an extremely aggressive Porter who likes to get inside but has never needed to second guess himself as he's faced favorable styles his last two outings. Then you have Thurman who enjoys his mid to long range, can Porter get inside without eating counters, can Thurman operate well enough on the inside to get Porter off of him? This fight would be so fucking intriguing!
It vex's me that this fight is a possibility. I mean you have the likes of Broner who got to waltz up to welterweight and immediately get a shot at Paulie, (one of the weakest champs there and look like $h!t winning his strap).
Then you have Maidana, (who I like), duck Thurman and now gets Floyd. But a guy like Thurman can't get a top rated welterweight and gets shafted for his title shot.
Enter Porter who at least got his shot, took advantage now the fans want him and Thurman to fight while the likes of Broner is fighting some powder puff dinkypooh. It really gets me vex'd that certain fighters get $h!t handed to them while others have to scale the sides of mountains using pick axes.

Thurman looks good, I don't think he's as chinny as some are suspecting. That shot that "stunned him" briefly looked like it landed near the side or back of his head.
He needs to keep his D tighter, no hands down stuff when you fight top guys.
Broner and Berto? gtfoh, hype-job does not equal B-grade, Jan Zaveck would beat both, as would Diego Chaves.
How can you call Berto and Broner complete bums and talk up Diego Chaves? He's done absolutely nothing but put up a fight before getting KO'd by Keith Thurman.
What planet do you live on boy?
Broner's a 3 time world champ whether you wanna call him a hype job or not, maybe he's not ready for welterweight, besides Maidana's resume baring Broner chits all over Thurman's.
Jan Zaveck?
Diego Chaves looks good but who has he beat? No one. Plus they were neck and neck before that KO.
I don't know if Broner's a B-grade welter. Maidana's record at welter isn't great either. It's all very well counting their wins at lower weights, but that counts for nothing when you step up in weight class.
Zaveck was up against Berto (JZ was the champ) it was stopped on cuts from a headbutt. He's a good fighter, as is Chaves but more to the point, they're full welters. Guerrero and Broner were/are just pretending at the weight and Ortiz had like 1 win.
Fans are so full of it because if a guy is too defensive you complain, if he is aggressive and not afraid to eat punches to get off his punches "HIS DEFENSE SUCKS"
Please....PICK ONE!
Thurman is willing to take a few punches to get off with his Power because he knows him Landing with his Power will do more damage than his opponents will.
Against better competition and guys with more Power I am sure he will clean things up a bit more. But he has shown a pretty good chin so far.
Thurman is not even a hype Job, their is no hype for him just yet. Actually other fighters avoiding him is what is feeding the "HYPE"
floyd is fairly open to left hands in general(although i'd never quite say they are "easily" landed)
i remember hatton snapping his head back a couple of times with a wide left uppercut/up-jab
also floyd is esspecially vulnerable to the left when you come up from a low stance on him
what's the punch that comes to your mind?
Maidana has a good left feint to the body and switches it upstairs, he crouches down and comes up with that punch.
Yeah, he's a little chinny. I'm not going overboard -- I'm not saying he has a bad chin, but he gets clipped a little more often than you'd like to see. As good as his reflexes and defensive instincts are, he's got to be a little more conscientious on defense.
I've only seen him rocked once, and by a looping shot he didn't see coming.
I'm curious why you think that, that's not really the punch that comes to mind that can be easily landed on Floyd, matter fact I've hardly seen him get hit with uppercuts.

And people REALLY need to stop brushing Chaves under the rug like that was par for the course. It's like people didn't see how much of a problem that guy is.
Look, opponents can make you look good and all, but how do you watch Chaves and not think he's a legit nightmare for a lot of folks at WW? That means you regard Thurman in such low light.
Because they actually beat a B grade opponent :dunce:

This fight made me think about something.
So.. Thurman broke Diaz's ribs. If a welterweight is strong enough to break ribs, why don't cruiserweights and heavyweights go to the body more? You'd think the bigger guys would be throwing hooks to the body all night if ribs are that fragile.
i think that left uppercut would be vicious vs mayweather
not saying he'd win, just saying, floyd has been open to that punch before
I'm curious why you think that, that's not really the punch that comes to mind that can be easily landed on Floyd, matter fact I've hardly seen him get hit with uppercuts.
The thing I like with him against Floyd is the fact that he can fight going backwards, so Floyd loses that option of walking someone down, and COMPLETELY neutralizing them.
And we've seen when he mixes it up with you, he can put you down. Obviously Floyd's not mixing it up with him, but I also love the fact that he can move, and he has enough speed when he ambushes to give Floyd some trouble.
Floyd should win, but one of those fights you have to actually see, and can't 100% say what happens.
Floyd vs. the plodders he's been facing are 100% victories with maybe a landed punch here and there.
With Thurman it's not so simple to predict what exactly happens.
It's hard to pinpoint his flaws because we haven't seen him with anybody really good yet, don't get me wrong I think his resume isn't as bad as some make it out to be (Zaveck, Chaves, and JSK were solid wins), but he needs to get a fight lined up with a known name. He's kind of got the GGG syndrome going on right now, as in he's blowing by everybody but since he's also avoided, many critique his lack of marquee wins.
