Dude looked like a beast he was winning fights he looked like he was on path to be a ATG.
Once his wife got pregnant he seems not to be the same and really since he has had a kid
he also Seems to fight different He just looks for the left hook
Watching the first Darchinyan he seemed to be alot more technical and threw better selection of punches
Even before the rigo fight he seemed on the decline to me anyone else notice this?
some of you guys are being a bit hard on Donaire.
It's not like he got shut out by Rigo. He lost by a few rounds to a world class boxer. Perhaps its just a bad style matchup. The guy even knocked down Rigo in the 10th. So he definitely has skill.
Donaire is proven at flyweight to super bantamweight. The Vic rematch wasn't impressive other than he still shows elite power. Lets see how he does as he continues at Featherweight.
Vetyeka is a legit challenge. The dude beat the 'legendary' Chris John. lol ...
I'll admit, after the first Darchiniyan fight and the Montiel fight, thought he was gonna be the man. Since then, he's just looked sloppy. I'll give him credit for the Nishioka fight, but even in that, he looked like he was just throwing bombs.
He might get in but they put just about anybody in these days it would appear. May as well chuck Broner in, Robert Guerrero and every other multi weight paper champion in too.
What fights did he possess these tools in? Show me proof because I studied him and looked at every bit of footage of him that was out there prior to his fight with Rigondeaux and I never seen it.
The only fight he used his jab effectively in was from around round 9 onwards of the Mathebula fight.
Bruh i have watched tons of donaire fights he never was never a just jab you to death fighter but He had boxing skill and he fought smart and picked he shots he no longer does that
and he has not looked good to me for the last few fights

hey bro, I say he needs to go back to Victor Conte, his first fight without him in years was against Rigo, didn't look as fast either.
Did he leave Robert Garcia permanently? Or is it just a temporary thing?
It's kind of a myth that he is with Garcia all the time. He trains in the bay with some martial arts crew (who also "train" boxers). Garcia helps him close camp, and is in his corner. But, he's not really part of that Oxnard crew.
N
Seeing that Kell Brook is the 2nd fighter you mention on your favorite fighters list I can now ROTFL… Topic over.
So you ignored everything I said and picked something completely off subject that has sweet F.A to do with the debate/discussion? I see, totally unlike NSB that!
Its just a list, there is no order and even if he was what is so funny about that?
Robert Garcia ruined his Career! Garcia never teach him anything! I knew him even before the Darchinyan fight and seen maybe only three of his fight in youtube and I already compare his skills to Mayweather. And also predicted a dominant win against Darchinyan.
Now him and Pops teaming up again, Expect a Celebral and skillful fighter again.
He won fighter of the year on activity rather than quality of opposition.
Arce was shot to pieces and came to collect a paycheque. Nishioka they dug out of a graveyard.
Mathebula & Vazquez Jr both gave him fits despite neither being very good at all. Donaires limitations made Mathebula look like a master boxer lol
Sure you could pick apart any fighters resume but if we are honest, noway does that string of weak opposition warrant no fighter of the year.
He was given it on quantity not quality.

LMAO, are u serious. Man, you could've had Roach, Nacho and Eddie Futch advising him that night and the result would've been the same.
For those who are saying that Nonito wasn't all that in the first place. Y'all don't know sh*t. That's like saying Pippen ain't all that anyway. Y'all need to check what Michael Jordan's record was when Pippen was out of the lineup.
Does the person who usually end up in second place against Bolt suck?
^^^This^^^
What's with the hate on Nonito, lol??? While ATG status I agree is silly talk at this point, you gotta give Nonito his due. His only defeat in the last decade came to the hands of someone I consider one of the great talents ever in the low weight classes. Donaire was the 2012 fighter of the year… You don't get that accolade with a limited skill set. He's much better than you elude to…

2004 – Jamaica Glen Johnson
2005 – United Kingdom Ricky Hatton
2006 – Philippines Manny Pacquiao
2007 – United States Floyd Mayweather Jr. (2)
2008 – Philippines Manny Pacquiao (2)

2010 - Sergio Gabriel Martinez
2010 – Argentina Sergio Gabriel Martinez
2011 – United States Andre Ward
2012 – Philippines Nonito Donaire
2013 – Canada Adonis Stevenson
That's pretty good company to be in.
Donaire has definitely in fallen in love with his left hook over the past few years. His last great complete performance was against Sidorenko. Which was as good as Donaire has ever looked. He was actually using his jab in that fight.
Now he just looks for the one punch knockout. I think he needs to look for a better trainer cause I don't think the matchup with him and Garcia is going to get him anywhere. Garcia couldn't even give him advice when Rigo was spanking him.LMAO, are u serious. Man, you could've had Roach, Nacho and Eddie Futch advising him that night and the result would've been the same.

WTF? He is going to the hall of fame hands down
he was not a slick jabber but he had a good jab and used a wider variety of shots
He did not load up crazy like he does now
And broner has done nothing in boxing compared to Nonito
He might get in but they put just about anybody in these days it would appear. May as well chuck Broner in, Robert Guerrero and every other multi weight paper champion in too.

I remember getting hated on for calling him Nonito "load everything up on the left" Donaire. Times have changed
Danny Garcia is starting to become that way.
Donaire has never been this slick jabber or whatever people claim. He has always been the same limited guy who loads up on everything.
That is almost as crazy as me saying Broner was on the path to being an ATG before Maidana destroyed him.
ATG? All-time great is thrown around way too much. To me ATG is say like the greatest 100 fighters or what have you of all time.
Donaires skills, resume, achievements aren't even HOF worthy or particularly close let alone ATG worthy.
