Is Floyd Mayweather Jr. saving the best for last?
Fight analyst Bill Tibbs believes so as he explained the main difference between the American and Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao and why their super bout hasn’t come into fruition.
Tibbs pointed out that Pacquiao is a real fighter, one that never backs out from a challenge, however, formidable it may be.
He said that not even Juan Manuel Marquez’s devastating counter right hand that knocked out Pacquiao prevented the popular fighter from standing up and resuming his colorful career.
“Manny Pacquiao fights. That’s what he does. He wins and he keeps going. He loses and he keeps going. He gets knocked out cold and he keeps going. That’s what real fighters do. He is a modern-era, throwback fighter if there ever was one. Manny will get in the ring with anyone, preferably the best available opponent out there, anytime,” said Tibbs in Max Boxing.
He said Pacquiao is reminiscent of history’s best boxers who sought out the toughest opponent available.
“The great fighters of the past - the real fighters - fought the best available at every opportunity they could,” said Tibb.
This is unlike Mayweather, who despite his superb boxing prowess, has eluded Pacquiao. According to Tibbs, the undefeated American treats the sport as a business as he always looks at the “big picture.”
But the analyst thinks Mayweather is saving the Pacquiao fight for last.
“Perhaps Floyd, who does hint his professional end is near, is sitting quietly while he waits for his last bout, saving the Pacquiao extravaganza as his swansong classic,” he said.
“Let’s hope Floyd decides to do what a fighter at his level is supposed to do: fight the best available opponent fight fans are demanding in the fight everyone really wants to see him in. Time will tell.”

Poll cumming...
Floyd is waiting for the right time to cherry pick Pac. When Pac is ripe and too old to swing. That's when he will invite Pac to fight.
Cherry picking 101- take the least risk road to travel.
Sad but true.
Roach already explained this one guys! It was Manny's fault the fight didn't happen at first. Lets not get a hometown newspaper to spin it.
You can't even get to say that Roach said that it was Floyd's fault after that ..... just to hard for you to admit to that ..... come on, you can do it. You will feel good.
Regardless of where you want to place blame, this whole May-Pac scenario is nonsense and tired. You can find instances to point the finger at people from either side. While it's still an intriguing fight, it will never be as anticipated as it once was. I don't even really try to think about this fight anymore. It's been five years. As a fan, I'm tired of hearing this and hearing that when the truth is, they've been jerking us all around for half a decade. I'll watch if it happens, but I'm not anticipating anything. It's ridiculous.
No version of Pac was ever a threat too Floyd, counter punching negates his offebse see Bradley fights n Jmm
Pac was no where near 70punches per round
Pac gonna play cat n mouse with Floyn and lose
your idol fraud totally doesn't agree with you. he has better reasons why he ducked the midget.
That's what I'm trying to say before PAC sign an extension, call him up after calling Roach. I'm sure Roach wants this fight to happen so as Manny, so right there is the best time to make an offer. A fair reasonable offer. I'm pretty sure Richie and Al will devise a smart way (and legal) to make the fight happen without Arum in the picture. Heck, if Al can take some of the boxers from their previous Manager and promoter, I'm sure he smart enough to make Manny and Roach agree, right?
Ithink it's about Manny being smart enougb to take his opportjnity for once in his life. Mayweather nwanted that DLH so bad he told Arum to do one and wentnout and got it it himself. He took his career in his own hands and achieved with his talent what Arum couldn't foresee. No one's asking Pacquiao to be that drastic, just be his own boss for once in his life and be a free agent for a Mayweather fight. For once it should be up to him not "uhhhhhh..... up to my uhhhhhhhh..... promoter, Bob Arum". Cotto did it. Why can't he?
its not gonna happen
if floyd is all about the money, the fight SHOULD have already happened 4/5/6 years ago when it WOULDVE made the most money and sense.....
Dude, as a fan, I wish Mayweather would stop being such a diva where Aru m is concerned, but considering their history and what Arum has resorted to (begging fans not to buy fights), I don't see it happening. If Pacquiao re-signs before exploring that opportunity as a free agent (like Cotto did), it doesn't look good.

On paper and probably in reality this fight goes 9-3 unanimous dec. In mayweathers favor, but for floyd at this point pacquiao still presents too many variables to take that risk and make a fight. Floyd doesn't need to fight pac. His 30+ million guarantee will be there for each of his remaining fights. The only way floyd fights pacquiao is if the best version of pacquiao doesnt have enough to surprise him in the ring, and right now the chances a mentally/physically capable pacquiao showing up on fight night are very possible and good enough to give floyd problems.
So which is which? Floyd scared and still ducking or he don't have to fight him coz like you said, he makes 30 mil each fight? What about US true boxing fans who contributes for that $30 mil? Don't we deserve to find out what these two boxer/fighter made of against each other? Idk about you, but I want to see who really is the better boxer/fighter so we can stop this silly assumptions, and back and forth bickering nonsense.
Look, you are still on the blame game, BOTH guys/camps are to blame for the failed previous negotiations. I get it, some of the guys here get it as well. We are talking about NOW, before these two retires. But I, as a boxing fan wants to see who is better than the two while they both have it. Manny already comply with each demands except leave TR. Manny is a loyal person, he always is and always will. So, like you said, Floyd is the número UNO, what he wants, he gets right? So, why not tell Arum and vise versanto make this fight happen? HE the BOSS. Everyone already bow down to his demands (except the Snake). **** if he truly wants to shut everyones mouth who da best is, tell Richie and Al, call PAC and Roach don't include Arum and lay out a more reasonable offer. If PAC disagree then, I will say manny dont want any of Floyd.

Manny is the only guy, along with Arum probably even more so, who f*cked things up in 2010 and never even agreed to do any type of testing until 2012. At that point, Floyd changing his stance on the 50-50 split wasn't a good move by him. It hindered the fight from happening. But at the same time, even had a split been agreed to, Manny and Arum were talking about not being ready to fight in May because of cuts and stadiums not being ready (the f*ck???). Arum even went as far to say that if Floyd isn't fighting in May anymore because of his legal situation, then they would be open to fighting Marquez on Cinco De Mayo. But then when Floyd was cleared, it became June all of a sudden again. And when examining the split, Manny probably never deserved a 50-50 split at any other point aside from early 2010 coming off 1.25M buys with Cotto. By the time Floyd did the same buys with Ortiz and out sold him with Mosley, and doing bigger gates with common opposition, Manny didn't deserve 50% probably. Still doesn't change Floyd hindered the fight from happening by changing tune on the split.
What's also funny though is Manny never agreed to take less money until AFTER signing another fight, as seen with Pac-JMM 4. Then Pac was KO'd,
effectively killing the hype for the fight instantly. Now some of the hype has been reopened since Manny just beat Bradley who was #3 P4P, in pretty good
fashion. But once again, we have this whole Showtime/HBO dynamic where it's nearly impossible to make the fight.
It should be noted that people claim Manny shouldn't have to cave to Floyd's demands for the fight......but when they really were 50-50 fighters in terms of
drawing power and status in the sport, Floyd gave in to nearly every single demand of Manny's. Smaller ring, 1 million dollar penalties for missing weight,
glove size, ring entrance, even offering a 14 day cutoff for testing initially. But now when Floyd is universally seen as the bigger draw and has all the power,
Manny shouldn't give in to Floyd's demands to get the fight???
That's the most honest way to look at this.

Manny f*cked everything up initially, and Floyd f*cked it up the 2nd time even though he probably had a point, but then Arum made his side look ridiculous with talks about cuts and stadiums.
That's how I see it.
I thought we'd see the end of this after Roach's candid and honest interview. He stated:
HIS team scuppered the first and only real negotiations over the blood testing.
BOB ARUM wanted Mayweather as Pacquiao's last fight.
Mayweather is by no means clean in this with his shenanigans. Why people can't accept what came from the horses- no, 'roach's mouth, I don't know. Almost like admitting what he said would blow their tiny minds. Some people seriously just need to grow up and move on.
