I'm more of a reader than a poster. I really try to stay away from topics about Floyd and Manny. Although, after one of their fights, I tend to make a brief stop in these topics to see what everyone thought about the fight. I can't believe this crap between Pacquiao fans and Floyd fans is still going on. Each side trying to one up each other with this article or that YouTube video. Analyzing their every word to prove Floyd is this and Manny did that. Not only do we have our own opinion of Floyd and Manny, but it now seems like we are giving our opinion on how the rest of the world is going to view both of them when their careers come to a close. Floyd will be looked at like this. Manny will be looked at like that. Give me a break. There is one major difference between those who support Floyd and those who support Manny. The fans that back Manny love this guy. He means so much to his people back home, his fans around the world and vice versa. You guys can talk all you want and try to prove one thing over the other, but this is the one thing Floyd will never have, and that's the true support and love of his fans.
lol, ok, those were all legit wins.
Next time state facts instead of junk and you wont get called out on it.
You stated Cotto was coming off a loss. That's a lie.
You stated Margarito was coming off a loss. That's a lie.
You stated Mosley was coming off a loss. That's a lie.
Erik Morales was coming off a genuine loss. I'll give you that.
Rios was coming off a genuine loss but so was Pac.
He beat Morales coming off of a loss instead of fighting Raheem, that is a fact.
He fought Cotto when Cotto got destroyed by Margs wraps, went on to beat a nobody in Jennings, and in many people's eye's lost to Clottey. He fought Margarito after Mosley killed him, he got suspended, came back and beat Robert Garcia who's day job is being a substitute teacher. He fought Mosley after Floyd kicked his ass and Mora made him look awful in a draw, Mosley hadn't won a fight in 2 years when Manny picked him.
If you believe beating Michael Jennings legitimizes Cotto as being one of the best Welters at the time, that's on you.
If you believe beating Robert Garcia legitimizes Margarito as an opponent, that's on you.
If you believe drawing with Sergio Mora legitimizes Mosley as an opponent, that's on you.
I choose to state facts while u choose to lie
Morales off a loss
Cotto off a loss
Margarito off a loss
Mosley off a loss
Rios off a loss
the list goes on and on
Lying to yourself doesn't make it true. Cotto had just defeated clottey before facing Pac. Margarito just defeated roberto garcia before facing Pac. Mosley fought to a draw against Sergio mora prior to facing Pac. Both Rios and Pac were both coming off losses before their bouts. Erik Morales had just lost to a hof fighter in Antonio Barrera. There's no shame in that.

I see where you're going and I don't totally agree but I don't totally disagree either. Floyd clearly has a fanbase that sticks behind him. However as a nation he does not have that. The U.S. is such a melting pot, and we really only stick by our fighters when they compete in the Olympics. However Manny has an entire nation behind him. And they support him win lose or draw.

Pac is greater than Floyd in terms of historical ranking
Floyd is better than Pac in terms of boxing skills
Pac's shot to shit now while Floyd's past it but still top shelf
Floyd would kill Pac in 3 at this point if they fought
forget Pac-Floyd, it's worthless now, WAY too late
i will still want to see pac vs floyd just to see if you are correct that floyd will kill pac in 3...
been so long i saw floyd kill anybody.....
except the fans who don't get their money's worth watching him fight...
it is why floyd's fights under cards were always loaded up with other big names
The one thing that Manny has that Floyd never will is the desire to entertain. Manny will put his body, and the victory, in jeopardy for the sake of entertaining.
Doesn't make me like Floyd any less tho. I like/appreciate them both. Just apples and oranges.
very sensible post....
I was agreeing with you until you went on and did the exact same thing you're complaining about - trying to get 'one up' on Floyds fans or whatever.
I've been a fan of this sport since a very young age and a big fan of both fighters but this kind of posturing between the fighters, their teams and fans has been going on too long. So much so that I wouldn't have minded too much if Pac lost this weekend. That would've finally ended this whole debate and we can go on to discuss other fighters and fights that are actually happening.
Both great fighters of this era, it's been a pleasure to watch them both do what they do but somewhere along the line I lost appreciation for both and just wanted them to go away because of the **** the TS was talking about in the majority of his post. Once it's all said and done and people have finally moved on from this, I can look back and say it was great when these two were around but at the moment I'm sick of these two being compared. The time for them to fight has long gone, if it does happen it'll be like Roy-BhopII, meaningless.

Very true once Floyd loses, he loses all those fake ** fans. who thinks its cool just to say "Money May" "yeh, TMT all day" just look these stupid hipster/geeky trends. Floyd Mayweather is just a trend, once he loses its goonery after.
Floyd's fights are not entertaining to the casuals who want all action, combos, knockdowns/KOs. Entertaining to the hardcore community to some
Em said it best in his song ***hole
"I'm back and you can't stop me
You knock me down, I went down from the counter
I fell but the fans caught me, and now
You're gonna have to beat the ****in pants off me
To take my belt, word to Pacquiao"

Its like Gladiator, Floyd is Cesar , while Pacquiao is gladiator.
The real people know who the true warrior was and in the end when its all said and done, you will see who the fans remember more and carry on the legacy of.

A loss doesn't define a fighter. A prizefight is the revealer of truth. Its a place where you leave it all on the line and bring your best or don't come at all.
Agreed. When did this crap change anyway?
Morales off a loss
Cotto off a loss
Margarito off a loss
Mosley off a loss
Rios off a loss
the list goes on and on
Like he said "history doesnt lie" :lol1:
Floyd will be beloved by his fans no matter what...
Roy jones still wins every fantasy battle in here, and he lost his luster...
Tyson fans still back him...
If Floyd is the reason u started following boxing, then I doubt they turn their back on him
History doesn't lie. Floyd's record speaks for itself. All I'm doing is pointing out the truth.
Neither Canelo or Thurman are top 10 pfp. Don't get me wrong I would love to see that fight but whatever happens now doesn't matter. Pacquiao has already beat the best. Time and time again.
You pacman fanboys must be trolling...
Are you seriously saying Pacman has a better resume than FMJ???
Come on bro. Its ok to pick a side. Its not cool to act like you are being forced to take sides because of posters when you clearly were on a side from your first post.
lol. Hold on a second. Yeah it's cool to pick a side. What I meant was that you have Floyd fans and Manny fans that will turn you against the other guy because of some of the crazy crap they say. It's like you're either a Floyd fan or Manny fan. And if you are a fan of one.....you must hate the other. You can't enjoy them both. That's just crazy.
This is your country. Our country is across the pacific on the other side of the world.
Must be some huge homes in your country that can hold a hundred plus people for fight parties
