It's hard to know for sure if he was avoided but a lot of guys definitely didn't fight him. Juan Lazcano was one, Tszyu was another, Hatton when both were at 140. Shane Mosley twice before their fight at WW in 2010. Floyd chose not to fight those guys, they didn't have a choice.

Fighters don't generally duck defensive fighters. They duck aggressive knockout artists. So when they say GGG is ducking Lara, or everyone is ducking Rigo, forget that bs. Mares wanted Rigo. Sta Cruz wanted Rigo. Where is all that ducking nonsense coming from? Only reason why they won't fight such fighters is because they've got six fans and there's no money to make in them.

After the fight, nothing was ever mentioned about Cotto and Mayweather fighting. Remember, Floyd was making rumblings about leaving Top Rank and Bob Arum didn't want to hang an L on Arum's undefeated fighter on the way out.
