I thin people are underestimating Fake JCC in this fight. He has an anvil for a chin and will be the much bigger man. Not saying he will win but he's not going to fall like a sack of potatoes either.
Jr. is big -- we all know that...
Jess Willard was big also...

Sergio did not recover quickly from that bout even though Jr was only able to engage for 1 minute or so in the last round of the fight...
What does that tell you?
Was Sergio still broken from Macklin? :lol1:
Fvck. I find myself defending a position that I'm not necessarily convinced of. Only suggesting that it's not entirely retarded to think that this fight is no gimme' for GGG...
It actually doesn't tell me anything. And I never said it was a gimme for GGG (if that reference was towards me).
Chavez Jr survives but his face will tell a different story. However some comments I've read also argued that GGG can win via TKO if he goes to Chavez Jrs body. The left hooks would certainly do terrible damage and could drop Chavez to his knees.
You guys think Golovkin can beat Chavez boxing off the backfoot?
Like Russian said, Chavez will be the one backing up. He isn't some irresistible force that always moves forward, we just saw in his last two fights how he was forced to box against Brian Vera.
Once Chavez feels GGG power he will go on survival mode. However, The only thing Junior may have inherited from his father is his chin. Not only that, GGG moving up fighting a big SM in Chavez isn't going to be an walk in the park. I think Chavez survives all 12 rounds.
So now anytime somebody tastes the canvas, it's because they're a big puncher? Sergio has been dropped multiple times. Doesn't mean each person was a big puncher.

Golovkin's face looked pretty fragile against Rosado. Unless the flu made him more susceptible to bruising. I wouldn't say Martinez was nearly knocked out by Chavez. Dropped and badly hurt, but never on the verge of being put down for a 10 count. And you fail to mention how much punishment Chavez had to take to get the chance to land his hardest shot on Martinez. You think Golovkin could stand up to that punishment? How is Golovkin, who's best win is Macklin, expected to dominate a top p4p fighter? Martinez is on a vastly superior level to the likes of Stevens, Rosado, Ouma, Adama, and even Macklin. Golovkin simply isn't proven enough to say he easily beats a healthy Martinez. If Rosado's power can bust up Golovkin's face, Martinez's definitely can. Simply put, there's a reason Martinez is middleweight champion and Golovkin isn't.
Yeah, Martinez never stepped in the ring with GGG, and won't if his promoter has his say. What was Martinez' best win before stepping in with p4p Williams IYO?
I don't see any sparking out Chavez by anybody from middleweight. I think he's going to get his face mashed to spaghetti until somebody tells him he's going to literally die unless they stop the fight though.
Lol Golovkin would put Martinez into a hospital bed. Martinez was nearly KTFO by an out of shape Chavez Jr. Golovkin was also extremely sick from the flu during the Rosado fight and still tore Rosado's face off.

If Golovkin deals with Chavez Jr. (which I expect to happen), he still has to face the much faster, better conditioned, more skilled, and harder hitting Sergio Martinez if he wants to claim he's champion. Remember what Rosado did to Golovkin's face?
Bruise it?

Why would he fight off the back foot? That just not how chavez fights, in fact he's usually on the back foot
Has Chavez Jr ever taken a sustained attack to the body from someone?
Yes. Martinez hit him with something like 80 body shots. Mostly it was straight lefts to his stomach. There were a few right hooks thrown in as well.

Yeah and Rosado isn't known as a big puncher at all really.
