Anyone know what time the Yaegashi cards starts?

Perhaps he just doesn't travel smart so he tends to be afflicted by the jet lag, interruption to weight cutting and final training, food, etc. It is disappointing when a guy doesn't perform, especially when you paid to get in. And Inoue definitely has a lot of upside. I still don't think he would have beat a fit Hernandez. However, I was impressed by how he came out and set the tone from the opening bell. He seemed to hurt Hernandez to the body with one of his first punches, and he was pressuring Hernandez from the start and not backing down an inch. It was ballsy and it also showed a lot of poise.

No they are not. The term work is actually from professional wrestling. A work is the opposite of a shoot. In any case, I explained the sense in which I intended the term so semantics can be damned. But a shoot in wraslin is something real while a work is not, meaning a fixed outcome. Whatever.

I'll wait to see the fights before making any judgements. But Gonzalez could've carried Purisima because he may wave wanted to get some rounds in before going into a big fight with Yaegashi. I did see the 5th and 6th round of Inoue Hernandez on youtube and it did look like Hernandez quit. Im not so sure it was something fishy, Hernandez could've easily been drained and knew he was out gunned last night. Nothing he landed had any effect and Inoue was landing punishing shots at will. That can discourage even world class fighters. I'm looking forward to watching the video too. Watching from the stands is obviously different than on film, and all my posts were in the moment. I've seen plenty of mismatches in which a fighter carried the other to get rounds. It's possible. It is just that this was such an extreme mismatch. Gonzalez was basically just shadowing his man, getting in perfect position and simply not throwing. He scored a knockdown in the second, and it almost looked like he did it accidentally. The Japanese ref, when up in the count, seemed to actually bend over and signal at the fighter to stand up (like encouraging him to carry on a little more), and he stood up immediately. As for Hernandez-Inoue, the one thing I want to point out (not aiming to contradict, just trying to be informative) is that the 5th and 6th rounds were by far Hernandez's most active. He did very little in the first 3 rounds, especially. I don't think it was just starting slow, he simply looked like he didn't have anything to give. I was typing in between rounds, and I said after the first that he just mosied back, and after the second that he was shaking his head a little (in dismay). There was something wrong with him before the opening bell. A lot can go wrong of course and travel, weight cutting, sickness can all be factors. But Hernandez was never in this fight. Inoue is extremely talented, but I can't help taking away that he beat a Hernandez who was only a shell. It is never nice to see that sort of thing.

Yeah the Taguchi fight showed he can be hit but those handspeed combos are going to KTFO a lot of guys in the process. He's still very young so maybe he'll pick up some craft to his defensive along the way. His chin looks solid. Its not like Hernandez didn't land anything, he did but they just had no affect on Inoue. Part of that could be that Hernandez was drained from making weight, but he still landed some good shots and Inoue took like them like nothing. He still needs to work on defense but so far his chin seems to be durable at least.

Do note that a work and a fix are not the same thing. A worked fight is more a fight in which the course of events is somewhat controlled. It was a fight designed to showcase Gonzalez before the Japanese fans. Had Gonzalez just gone out and unloaded I believe the fight would have not lasted a minute.

Not that the guy was any threat but just that the fight was a show. For instance, Gonzalez basically through nothing but body punches and carried the guy quite deliberately. He went down in the second round and the Japanese referee (this was the only fight on the card with a Japanese referee) was practically about to help him up as he approached the top of his count. And I am posting what I perceived. I'm not having an agenda against Inoue. Hernandez was obviously not himself. The video will be about and people can analyze the fight later. I'm just giving my impression on what I saw from the bleachers. I stand by what I say though in that Hernandez was not right.

Why would they need to or want to work Roman Gonzalez vs a nobody? and TS doesn't seem to give any credit to Inoue either. Anyway, I didn't see it but it seems like a stretch.

There was one clearly worked fight with Roman Gonzalez and then this fight was just bizarre. This is my second time attending fights at Ota City Auditorium. They are run by Ohashi Promotions, Hideyuki Ohashi's company. Inoue is I believe an Ohashi Gym fighter. I don't think I'll be attending another of their cards. Now to be sure I am in the bleachers. But that just looked fishy to me. That's fkin weird man. You could be on to something here. Im gonna have to watch to get a clearer picture of Hernandez's condition.
