If Chavez Jr somehow managed to beat Golovkin, do you think that Win would match or even surpass the best win on his father's resume?
Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. fought many great names - Pernell Whittaker, Oscar De La Hoya, Hector Camacho, Kostya Tszyu among others - but he lost to many of the elite fighters he fought.
WTF!?!? I like GGG as much as anyone else, but he still UNTESTED & doesn't have any great wins him self. No way does that compare to Chavez KO victories over Chapo Rosario, Mario Martinez, Camacho, Taylor, Ramirez, R. Mayweather. This site over hypes the F*#K out of anyone... I still remember when GGG had fought twice on hbo & people were asking if could take on a prime Tito as well SMDH.
Don't see it happening but if he does win the fight; GGG has yet to be truly tested and both would be the best wins of both careers but far from the best Chavez Sr win!
Who's to say?? Fact is Triple G suffers from the same sickness that the Punisher did before him. And even Thurman suffers from it now. You can't prove yourself against the best if the best refuse to fight you. Yet somehow the best get props and these guys get called overrated, or untested.
If Chavez jr beats Triple G at 168, it wouldn't be as huge an accomplishment as if he beat him at 160, but it'd be huge none the less.
No way. GGG is a good fighter but he has not been tested as yet. The level he has faced is kind of mediocre so beating GGG will not but Chavez Jr anywhere near his father. Chavez will need to fight the likes of Andre Ward, Carl Froch and beat them and continue dominating for him to match his father. This is not to say he's not good just that he has huge boots to fill.
Crazy question. Sr. Went 89 and o when he took his first defeat. Jr will never fight anyone on the caliber of a pernell sweet pea and draw. Sr is a truckin legend with no gimme fights. Julio cesar Chavez is one of the all time greats and Jr is a cheat the whines even when he wins. I hope GGG knocks this clown out not a big fan of either one
That was as much a draw as Bradley getting a W over Pacquiao in the first fight. Whittaker clearly won that fight and was robbed.

Don't be absurd. Chavez Sr beat prime HOFers. The way Golovkins career is stalling, from a lack of credible opponents, there is no chance he'll see that.
The guys you say he lost to where when he was ancient. Even the Whitaker draw was clearly past his best years. Still very good, but not in his prime. The Oscar and Tszyu fights were when he was done.
Even so, there are many, many champions Chavez beat that were clearly better than GGG is at the moment.
Nope, GGG hasn't really done much to be honest, you can't upgrade a win based on hype. If GGG has the names that he was chasing on his resume then a win for Chavez over GGG would be great but as of now nope.
To some it would be a great win as Golovkin is currently the biggest beast to slay and is an avoided fighter who could ruin careers.
To others it would be Golovkin was overweight, untested a hype job and heavily overrated.
