vote and discuss with evidence to back up your choice either way.
thank you.
My belief is that this fight will happen once Hopkins retires after beating stevenson. Then kovalev and stevenson will fight for the vacant lineal throne.
I've not actually voted cos there just isn't any real way of telling (and anyway I tend to ascribe punch resistance more to awareness of what's coming than than some fabled genetic Granite or Glass jaw). What I can say for certain however is that both these guys have more than enough firepower to knock the other out.
Who'll be the one to get there first though? That's why this fight has to happen - it can only be answered in the ring.
I don't know if Kovalev has been KO'd several times, but he has been KO'd at least once (there's video).
Plus look at the sort of punchers he's been in with post Boone. (And likely pre-Boone, but that's a pretty motley lot.) For the most part it doesn't seem like he's been in with anybody to test his chin.

I've said this before, but Kovalev, GGG, and Thurman all suffer from a lack of head movement and and a tendency to go straight back. At some point they will all pay for that. I actually think Adonis is more chinny than Kovalev, but he's also less likely to pay for it.
I haven't seen neither guy get hit by a big puncher lately. Stevenson has been in there with bigger punchers (he wasn't hit). I say he has an advantage over KOV. KOV. looked a little shocked each time he got hit by Agnew (spelling). He definitely didn't want to be hit again. Stevenson would outbox him in my opinion and he has one punch power to put him on the deck. Kov. should stay away from Stevenson. He needs to work on his balance and foot work AND defense.
How many times have Kovalev been down in his career? Just the once against Boone?
Boxrec doesn't say anything about him going down in the first Boone fight and I can't find video of it anywhere...
What's all this talk about Kovalev being KO'd several times in the amateurs?
I also heard ggg knocked him down in sparring,,, but it's all hearsay,, I actual have no evidence, but that's the word
Since Adonis has been iced by Boone and kovolev seems to take a punch pretty well, I will go with kovolev, but his chin is still very untested, Adonis has been knocked out before so sergi gets my vote
Hard to say. Can only go by common opponents which is hard hitting Boone. Both fought him twice. Obviously Stevenson got KOd by Boone the first time. Kovalev was knocked down against him in his first fight but won a decision. Both destroyed Boone early in the rematch.
I'd probably have to lean towards Kovalev just based on that limited Info.
That's pretty much my feeling on it. Though it's a little moot as each has has the power to KO the other.
I was wrong about Kovalev never having been down. Boxrec said nothing about it but people say Boone knocked him down. For a guy with a terrible record this guy Boone sure gives some good fighters trouble. I still pick Kovalev as having the better chin but I am not as sure as I was. I would pick either man to beat Hopkins.
