Even if Main Event has all the proof it needs to prove there was an agreement with GYM and Stevenson, it is useless. Stevenson is 36yo. It would take at LEAST 2 years to get a first instance court to come to a decision. Then there could very well be an appeal. So in 3-4 years, when Stevenson is 40yo, we could have a fight. In the meantime, both will continue their career, and likely one of them will lose and become irrelevant. Sadly, the Law isn't helpful in this case. And no judge will grant an injunction in this kind of situation. Yeah but at least superwoman can use the Haymond/floyd line now, We don't do business with main events

My initial impression with this is that it's as much a PR move as it is a legal one. I don't mind that, Main Events should be embarrassing Stevenson for ducking Kovalev. I just don't see it having any real legal consequences. On that you're possibly right - there's no real way Stevenson can be forced to fight - at best they can expect some sort of payoff, but even the threat of a fight injunction could bring Stevenson back to the table - at 36 he's not in any position to sit out whilst legal issues are resolved. Furthermore, even a few $100k loss of earnings claim could make the Kovalev fight the more lucrative option than BHop. IDK about this if there is a contract that was signed but some verbal agreement isn't going to stand just publicly bash Stevenson but messing with Yvon is questionable they still have Pascal who could be an opponent so pissing him off isn't making that happen. I'm assuming Duva had to take a few minutes out to get legal advice - so this is actually pretty damn quick. SMH at the instant generation (no offense) - this s#it woulda broken over the course of weeks or months a decade ago, now you're sceptical cos Duva took 24 hours to decide on a course of action? I'm not convinced ME will win, but perhaps a fight injunction (or even the threat of it) might be enough to get Stevenson back to the table - after all the guy's 36 and can't afford to be tied up in legal issues instead of earning.
