Duran was much better than Chavez at slipping, ducking and rolling with shots. He also used it to transition to his offense better than just about anyone. There wasn't a disconnect between his defense and his offense like many. It was used to slip shots, then set up his offense.
In this sense, this is why I prefer Toney's approach to the 'shoulder roll'... he was much more offensive with it. Whilst you just have to appreciate Floyd's defence, it feels to me that he has sacrificed a lot of offence and resorts to potshotting in many cases, whereas Toney was a different story
