Bravery/Heart/Will
Whenever Floyd has been hurt or rocked....he's always responded like a warrior....underrated toughness!!
I was gonna say the same thing. Even more than that, he can be a pretty vicious guy when he wants to.
His ability to generate huge pop in small distances....
You simply dont see world class fighters often reacting to clinch blows, contrary to Floyd while facing the highest of highest level of opponents, they scream to the ref, they elbow, they push, they foul almost instantly when Floyd is in the trench touching, and poking away at them with clean shots; it demoralizes his opponents bad enough you have to worry about counters, when they finally get close those shots are hurting like they aren't supposed to. That touts punch precision and accuracy, and better pop than advertised.....
That Roger pad-work is the key to this close quarters punching.
I'm not a regular poster; in fact, I try to avoid it as much as possible, because it's not good for me emotionally to get involved and be drawn into stupid debate. Not good at it. I often wish I didn't, but i visit this site (for better or worse) most everyday, multiple times a day. I have to scroll through ALOT of posts/posters to find posts of substance and free of 'over the top' bias.
I said all that to say that I really truly enjoy reading your posts.
You can't be this clueless. Hee doesn't lay into guys because of his hands, he just hurt his hand recently but his power is there, he just doesn't use it the way he could as a result
Lol I never said he didn't have hand issues, I said he has no power on his punches. Malinaggi blames his lack of power on his repeated issues with his hands, can you say he has power too? Of course not, because regardless of the reason you can't throw a powerful punch, it still comes down to not being able to throw one. If a guy says "I have incredible movement in the ring but I can't use it because my knees hurt" would you still consider him to have incredible movement? Again of course not because it would be a ridiculous thing to say. I swear, only with Mayweather do you hear things like he can't punch hard but hes still a hard puncher
His body punching without a doubt, Angel Garcia doesn't seem to rate it saying that "Mayweather doesn't go to the body because he's afraid to get countered on top". The most efficient way to go to the body is to attack the mid section, Mayweather in the clinches will double up on a short right uppercut, even peck away at it with jabs and occasionally straight right hands which are devastating, all to the mid section. Guerrero slowed down considerably because of it and I I certainly don't see Maidana handling it any better.
if I knew how i would give you some green, cause you are speaking the truth.:boxing:
No doubt, no rep needed, I see I'm destined for red here anyway for speaking the truth, lol
There's absolutely nothing underrated or under-appreciated about this guy.
The entire internet is loaded with 12-25 year old stooges who idolize him and spend their days discussing even the most minute details of his life ranging from his actual fighting record, to his car collection, to chicks he dated, to what he eats, to how much money he's made, to things he tweeted, etc...
I've never seen a boxer with more male groupies in my entire life.
Why did Juan say that Pac hits harder than Floyd doe :dunno:
Thats the thing you never know, Mayorga said Oscar hit harder than Tito and we all know thats a stretch.....................
Sparring partners have also stated Mayweather hits harder than Manny though, and from my eye test I believe. Manny has always been accumulation puncher even in his lower weight days, rather than a one punch ko guy, but Floyd in them earlier days possessed that one punch fight changing power
I blame Hatton for skewing the perception of Manny's power.....The Hatton fight also ruined Manny to a degree, he believed that he had true WW pop, causing him to become disinterested when he didnt get that early ko......Manny needs to go back to the I not gonna stop throwing and wear you down style, he needs that even If may not ko you I will give you the whooping of your life style to beat Bradley................
Underated punching power
It's funny you mention that because that's the one part of his game I've always thought was overrated. I know people don't generally consider him a power puncher but hear me out on this. Guys without power, even guys like Malinaggi have even had the ability to really hurt a guy when they land flush. Alexander, who has very little power, almost knocked Urango out of his shoes when he connected flush on his chin. Floyd hits guys with more flush shots than probably any other fighter yet he rarely ever hurts his opponent. He doesn't throw a ton of punches but he picks his shots very well. I feel like if he had any punching power, he would knock out the majority of his opponents due to the amount of clean shots they take over the course of a fight. Don't get me wrong. I'm sure his punches hurt because of how cleanly you are getting hit with them but again I feel if he had any punching power at all, he would be knocking guys out more regularly
If and when Floyd ever gets knocked down you will see his underrated killing instinct. When Mosley rocked him. Floyd turned more alert and his defense and reflexes went up as well as recognition to open spots to counter. He has a demon I think inside him.. I want Maidana to bring it out.
Anyway an underrated things about Floyd is his intelligence inside and outside of the ring.LOL
Defintiely, Mayweather fans is about to have a heart attack and hes getting tested like non other vs Cotto, and he goes back to the corner in round 6 saying that m'fer running with the bloody smirk like

Floyd rarely shows the beast within I dont think Cotto even seen it, Mosley did though, Ortiz definitely did, and Canelo also did once he started fouling................
It's a stretch to slight his power, he hurt every opponenet he faces, it's his fault he doesnt press for the ko but, he's knows his body and he doesnt have to........
Cotto said Mayweather hit harder than Manny, and Mosley said he hit as hard Canelo, well those are p4p fighters and punchers his pop is being compared to....
Why did Juan say that Pac hits harder than Floyd doe :dunno:
I think hes stronger than people think, people think Floyd can't punch because he doesn't score many knockouts anymore but its more down to his style, he doesn't have Golovkin power but he definitely has enough to stun his opponents and make them back off.

Any of you notice how often Floyd be walking his opponents down? Do you think floyds opponents Ever plan for that? It has to play mind tricks on you when he's comming toward you and you planned on chasing him all night. Look at his last 6 or so fights and he's been coming at opponents and they are the ones backing up. Now when he's already got a lead after coming toward an opponent,:boxing: then they start chasing and doing things very stupidly trying to catch him and he's on his bike landing straight rights and hooks while they are trying to catch up
Very much so, like I said Floyd is a come forward head hunter(in spite being a deadly body puncher) before he is a counter puncher.......
If you come into the ring with the idea that Floyd is a runner you lost already..........
His power is very under rated, the only reason he prolly dosent get enough ko's is because he dosent take very many chances
Floyd doesnt go for the ko because when he broke his hand vs Baldomir going for the kill landing power shot after power shot, he sacrificed 2 years of his career to please fans only to be called chicken and all type of B*****es..........
And people in the sport know Floyd could hit, he had one punch pop in the lower weights that don't simply disappear. He simply protects his hands wearing the pillow grant gloves contrary to the Reyes gloves(last fight ODH) punchers glove he used in the past. Floyd understand if he breaks his hand sand have to miss 2 years again at this point, it's career over; on top of losing 200-300 million, thats too much to gamble with
Floyd could hit though, we saw Canelo curled up on the ropes from a small WW shots, while eating a near 180 pound Angulo shots like breakfast.........Think about that
You serious?
Dead serious, he's 5 steps ahead of the current boxers, the one time he was truly challenged and out of his comfort zone, and Floyd fans were biting their nails, Floyd responded by saying that m'fer is running, and smiling with the bloody face, that showed Floyd is a different type of beast than televised. Floyd backing off like 2-3 times after buckling him also showed that he loved what was going on, that someone actually made him step it up t gear 2......
Floyd Cotto was a great brutal match on both ends, physically but even more so mentally, Mayweather allowed him to get off some, but by 10-11 he was back boxing on the feet like it was round one and spinning him off the ropes with no issues, by 10-11 Cotto understood he was playing a cat and mouse game, and that point was reiterated when Mayweather backed off when he was one or 2 shots away from the death blow in round 11......Exactly why Cotto will say Mayweather was his toughest match in spite of taking far more punishment vs Manny and Margarito........I would love to see another go at this match later down the line
