I love how Floyd stans are trying to justify this fight by making Marcos to be much better than he is
This guy was ouboxed by Khan and Alexander ffs
There is a reason this fight will flop like gur did, it's because even casuals now this Floyd guy avoids the best
Enjoy losing 20m Showtime
ah deluded fanboys once again. lmfao @ slow as molasses super telegraphed wide arm punches being an asset. You don't know much about boxing do you. Mayweather will pick this guy apart worse than the Baldomir or Gatti fight
Speaking of fanboys....
Look at those weird angled punches. That's why I believe Maidana is going be a lot tougher than canelo was for mayweather. I like what I see in that vid. Maidana is training for an absolute brawl. He is just throwing all over the place.
He is not going in there to have a fencing match with mayweather and try to look cute.

I think you can go beast mode on pretty much anything. Ive used that kind of bag, it promotes movement but also lets you unload moving forward. And, now that youve made me think about it, that bag is better to train on for fighting a mover because it teaches you to go with the target while keeping sound footing and still keep your power punches effective. But really, I may have chosen footage of him pounding a heavier heavy bag were it available, all those are parts of larger clips though.
This clip was the most concise representation of what Chino brings to the table. And thats why I chose it.
Lol. It does seem that way sometimes, but I know when I am addressing another fighter after a lil while.
Thats the magic of Maidana... thats what gives him a chance to do what many would call impossible. How underrated the man is. Ghost? Was overrated.. Canelo.. overrated... Ortiz.. overrated.. Maidana? Underrated.
as all these people underrate him.. he quietly works.. as Floyd plugs all his products and business ventures.. Maidana quietly works...He is a special fighter.. and you will see that in May... win lose or draw
Fair assessment. I have a better understanding of your point of view.
I'm not gonna bull****. Not saying I'm not a fan, but you can count me in as one of the many underestimating what he brings to the table. More power to him if he proves us wrong.
I mentioned the bag because it correlates to the discussion. I said it was a 30-40 lb. bag. It's not exactly the type of bag you go beast mode on. I'm pretty sure anyone who's used one would agree.

I know it seems like it, but not everyone who post here is an obsessed teenage boy.

I respect your opinion and I'm not here to change it. It seems like we disagree on what is deemed powerful.

in one of ellie's videos robert says that for broner marcos only trained with the full crew for 3 weeks only, so now he is going to have them for 6 weeks and marcos has been training in argentina for almost a month, so this potentially should be his best training camp so far.
i hope he doesnt overtrain and burn himself out.
overhand right is gonna get floyd.
mark my worlds.
overhand right.
So... I know Collazo is coming off that stoppage of a war torn Ortiz.. but you are saying he looks more powerful than El Chino who beat the better version of Ortiz. It sounds a bit silly to me. But, I could see how if you have seen Collazo work a bag at your gym you would lean towards him. I ,however, have not seen either of them work a bag in person, hence, I think my bias would be a bit more in check, no? All things considered. I mean neither guy was at the community center gym or roughhouse boxing club in the 7 cities..and they sure werent in Rocket City gym here in AL.
Its like if I was posting this from Garcias gym in Oxnard, telling you how much better Maidana looks in training than Collazo... Now wouldnt you take that with a grain of salt?
I mention gear because you seem to stress equipment over form?? A great fighter can live in the slums..train punching a mattress.. run in shoes from walmart.. and train using worn castoff training gloves from their local hole in the wall gym.. and still be better than the guy that trains on state of the art bags with the latest winning reyes grant or whatever gloves. And run in 200 dollar nikes. In boxing, and fighting, form is everything. Everything else is just context.
anyway I stand by what I said. Maidana looks powerful and faster than is advertised.
No. What I am saying is that I have seen them work harder than Maidana is working in that video.
I'm not sure what Collazo's stoppage win has to do with the discussion. I guess you conveniently forgot every other fighter I mentioned. I guess I'm biased toward the no name amateurs I'll never see again. I'm so biased I had Berto beating Collazo(pretty sure I'm on record saying it), thought Collazo was a dumb ass for turning down the rematch, and thought Ortiz would spank him.
I seem to stress equipment over form? Based on one comment? Seems like the only bias being shown here is by you. You seem to think my knowledge only extends to the equipment side of boxing. Trust me I've been watching the sport long before I started working with equipment. I mentioned the bag because it correlates to the discussion. I said it was a 30-40 lb. bag. It's not exactly the type of bag you go beast mode on. I'm pretty sure anyone who's used one would agree.
You're reading too much into it. It's a simple comparison based on the work I've seen in the gym, towards the work Maidana is showing in the video.
I know it seems like it, but not everyone who post here is an obsessed teenage boy. I don't have a vested interest in any pro or amateur fighter. Would I root for someone I know. Yes. Does it bother me, effect me, or change my life if they lose. No.
I respect your opinion and I'm not here to change it. It seems like we disagree on what is deemed powerful.
I never said you called him grease lightning. I said he still looks slow to me.
Not sure why you keep mentioning gear. I guess that's the only reason I've been watching boxing since the 80's. :pat:
You can torque your body and pivot your ass off. Bottom line a decent punch is a decent punch. There was nothing special in that video. I've seen Luis Collazo, Mike Ruiz, Tito Bracero, a few local pros, and a handful of amateurs around the same weight work the bag harder than Maidana is doing in that video, and I wouldn't label any of them powerful.
If that's powerful to you, who am I to tell you otherwise. I respect your opinion. I just happen to disagree.

Marcos punches like a damn mule kicks. His only real chance is to catch Floyd with one of those weird angled shots on the temple and hurt him/KO him. Hopefully he proves me wrong and it's competitive
Maidana is like the second coming of Duran. Dude is going to give Mayweather the fight of his life. The fight will probably be replayed on ESPN for at least a decade.
After reading all 9 pages I wonder.....Why is Mayweather hitting a heavy-bag while Maidana is hitting a Kids bag hung high?
Hitting? He's pitty patting.
