This is an obvious mismatch in size and built. Cotto will be brutally demolished in the ring. This isn't a fair fight. You can see the size disparity. This is a freak show waiting to happen. I hope Cotto doesn't die in there.
Yea i was all War Cotto, then recently saw martinez's bulk advantage!
Freddie and the team have to come up with a masterful game plan, cuz they already at a disadvantage in size .
This fight is a mismatch.
Trout dominated Cotto. What does Trout of better than Martinez?
He's going to hit him often and hurt him often. Won't last long
trout didn't dominate shiiiiiT
Yeah, I didn't think Trout dominated either. I had him winning by a couple of rounds in a close fight but the main problem for Cotto was that he couldn't hurt Trout at 154, which doesn't bode well for his fight at 160.
I like both guys, and i'm looking forward to the fight. Unfortunatley though, i think the size difference will really start to tell as the fight goes on.

yes there is a size difference. but thats what real fighters do, they look for a challenge and cotto has certainly done that.
Size plays a part. But this is a very difficult fight for Martinez, considering it's his first fight after surgery, and Cotto can move very well.
If it's a Martinez from a few years ago then yeah it's a mismatch. But at this moment in time it's a risky and difficult fight for both guys.
Every time fans doubt a short fighter, someone brings up Mike Tyson.. as if he wasn't a freakish, hulking mass of pure muscle smashed into a 5'10 frame.
lol There are other examples, but that's the one everybody cites.
Size matters. Of course, there are other considerations, but it's like the old saying goes:"All else being equal, a good big man will always beat a good little man."
Tyson has mucho mass. He was small but his bone density was heavy weight class. Cotto has welterweight bone density.

I'm not even a big Cotto fan, but all the signs point to him winning. Size won't be a major factor in this fight.
Age will be the biggest factor. Martinez is a broke old man these days. He's shot and no one apparently realizes it yet.UOTE]and i think this of Cotto
Someone should of told Mike Tyson he was too small!
Tyson was not small he was just short. His frame was heavy and his bone structure and mass was much bigger than someone like Chico Corrales who fought at 130 but was 6 foot 1. Chico Corrales was 6 foot 1 but his bone structure was narrow he couldn't fight at heavyweight because he didn't have the type of bone structure Tyson had to carry the weight.
Cotto only walks around at 165, he was a big 140 pounder but a smaller 154 pounder, he doesn't even belong at 160 to be honest. 160 guys are walking around 180-190 pounds with naturally bigger frames.
Look at you little babies crying for Cotto. Hes a fucking a warrior he doesnt need your tears or concern cowards.
Martinez is a shot fighter imo. Period. Hes finished. Looks older every fight. Gets hurt non stop. Gimme Cotto. Hes going to give Martinez a boxing lesson.
117-111 Miguel. Cry babies. Boxing doesnt have height and reach classes.
Well your opinions wrong. And I guess if youre wrong often enough, being wrong is no biggie...
:lol1: I'm not wrong often, to be honest.
And how can my opinion be wrong? The fight's not happened yet.

A noob is someone who doesn't know why there is such a thing as weight class. You're the noob lol
Size matters in boxing that is why there is weight classes.
End of thread...

I met Cotto, he said he's 5'7". Martinez is listed at 5'10", that seems about right if you look at the pic.
5 foot 7? Margarito must be 6 foot 2.
Pacman is 5 foot 6 and half.
Martinez looks more than 3 inches taller than Cotto, back to back pictures are the best teller of height disparity cause they are standing back to back right next to each other.
