This man even holds his breath when he runs past people smoking. Hasn't touched alcohol in god knows how long. Super healthy diet which is largely vegan but he does eat organic deer and buffalo meat.

Don't think you know what humble and passion is.
Hopkins does not epitomise either of these traits.
Humble? He desecrated the PR flag in PR and said he would never lose to a white boy despite getting schooled by him.
Exactly!! That dude with the Jones AV must be on something.
Without doubt! Bernard has his longevity because of his decision to be so humble and disciplined. No one in the history of boxing to my mind can compete with this man passion for the sport!!!

Lol I'm sure there are hundreds of professionals who fought in older eras who have had the same amount of year careers as B Hop.
Off the top, JCC Sr. and SRR have fought as long if not longer than Hopkins.
Now if you're talking fighters at age 50?... Not sure who there is to name
Ha, the guy said professional he meant in terms of discipline not the number of years pro.. Jcc was high on coke and drunk most of his career and Leonard had his problems also.. In terms of pure dedication to the sport they got nothing on B-Hop
I don't think enough fuss has been made about Hopkins otherworldly run past the age of 40. Without question one of the greatest sports stories of all time.
There is an old interview about his time in prison. He said they would release a weakly menu of the food. He said it was mostly junk and unhealthy so he would save all his junk food and trade other inmates for the healthy food. I'll try to find the article was really cool.
You've probably seen it but the Ringside special they did on him was awesome.
He talked about how he's asleep or atleast off his feet every night by the time he news comes on to let his body rest.
To answer the question, it's very possible and he's without doubt up there.
He wouldn't be able to fight at the age he's at without being inhumanly disciplined.
I believe Marvin Hagler were similar when it came to the discipline in training. Dont know about his diet though.
I remember reading about Hopkins in a magazine 2001 where he stated that he was a very boring person. Never went to parties and clubs, went to sleep at 9PM every night.
Marvin did drink when not in training. In terms of intensity though his training was Floyd/Hatton levels.

jcc sr. wasn't that professional or dedicated to his craft once he hit his 30s.
jmm is a guy very similar to bhop (aside from the piss jokes)

Yeah, I think so.. Can't name another fighter who has been so professional for so long

I don't take anyone seriously when they refer to anyone of this era as "all time" in anything, 99% of the posters on this site know too little about the sport to make such asinine statements, me included.
What I can say, is that he is incredibly healthy and disciplined, it's very impressive and commendable, true dedication to his craft, his, body, and health.
