Someone has claimed to be an amateur cruiserweight in his day - is that something you have heard of?
In my day, the step up from lightheavyweight at 81kg went directly to heavyweight at 90,7kg or something like that.
If anyone has heard of this mystery cruiserweight amateur division, then I encourage you to share your story!
yes, that's just what it is. He also calls me a liar when I mention that my father was a boxing trainer and that I started watching boxing as a young child. At the same time, he's ducking all the challenges I line up for him.
Never called you a liar - or prove me wrong.
I just questioned why an 11 year old boy would smoke weed with his dad who's a boxing trainer.
It just doesn't add up for me.
Also, please add the screenshot of our PMs or keep it quiet.
This is just another personal attack thread by LacedUp against Weltschmerz.
He may be disingenuous and deny it's just another attack by him on Weltschmerz, but we all can easily see it for what it is.

Kind of like everyone of your threads, then eh?
Or are we supposed to believe your "Who's the best representative of the sport, Klitschko or Mayweather?" threads, are just made out of general interest? :lol1:
In the amateurs I started as a toaster weight and moved up to the paperweight. Really. Three time Aluminum Glove champion!
Go ahead and have a laugh but with all due respect, you might not know so much about amateur boxing in Denmark. What I think I've mentioned elsewhere, I fought at around 200 lbs and they called it cruiserweight and for 200+ guys heavyweight (they didn't use the 'super heavyweight' term) I guess to follow pro classes and yeah it's 'wrong' in terms of how amateurs are normally classified. Amateur gyms often use all kinds of weight classes too that aren't used in the pro rankings, one example here (NOTE: this gym is a member of AIBA as well). They also use the 'Jnr HW' group that BattlingNelson never heard of (they don't use cruiser, though):

Junior sværvægt (= Jnr. HW)???
I've never heard about that division in the pros and that's what the source leads you to believe exists.
Never heard of it. In the ams its the heavyweight division where the heavyweight equivalent to the pros is called the super heavyweight division in the ams.
No, there's never been a 'cruiserweight' division in amateur boxing. There's a super heavyweight division, and a heavyweight division. The heavyweight division may be close to the weight of the pro cruiserweight division, but it's not referred to as cruiserweight. And unlike the pros, all national amateur associations operate within a single umbrealla, the AIBA, so if any did refer to the heavyweight division as the 'cruiserweight' division they would indeed be plain wrong, as is this other poster.
Well they useed the cruiser term in my club. As if a give a flying fuck whether you believe so or not.

Who says I was talking about you?
And i'm looking for everyone's opinion, not just yours.
Danish Amatuer Boxing is registeret with the AIBA rules - No cruiserweight division.
