Is JMM ducking Provo?

This forum is filled with 75% mexican haters, I never enter a thread with out people hating like crazy. Marquez is not ducking Ruslan lol. Ruslan is Ducking Rios, that a duck. Marquez is just choosing the better option for his old fading career, he has nothing left to prove, he is a prize fight like Mayweather is, like cotto is where they chose fights on many different merits including money, risk/reward ratio etc etc. I swear people here dont understand how boxing works. Get real, if Marquez avoids Ruslan it does not make people haters of any race.

And the board says.......yes, for sure he does not want to fight for the belt, wants to find the loser. And whoever said both being Mexican helps sell the fights, uh...he does not need anyone to sell fights on the west side. He is the last great Mexican great. He should of retired after he put Paquiao asleep, well, i am sure everyone knows that also

At first it was a letdown but then I had to think about it, Alvarado isn't that easy of a fight. Marquez will prob take a fair amount of damage. Anyway, part of the promotion for the fight will be about the venue, somewhat of a homecoming solet them introduce boxing back there first and see what happens..and then with a little hype JMM and Ruslan can sell it out.

Perhaps yes but it is a tough fight and Marquez has had alot of tough fights in a row. You can't blame him for taking it easy for a change.

I hate to say a great fighter who is over 40 is ducking somebody. He has had a great career and fought more than his share of good fighters and earned the right to pick his fights as he nears retirement. He must realize that a win over ex champion Alvarado is not nearly as impressive as a win over champion Provo who knocked Alvarado out. I think Marquez knows Alvarado is an easier, safer fight. Maybe at this stage of his career he does not want to be in a war every fight.

I have given this some thought and yes there is no doubt he is avoiding Provo. HOWEVER, he should just be honest and say it like it is. It doesn't make sense at this stage in his career to fight a tough fighter as a warmup fight for a possible future title bout. His intentions are clear, he wants that world title. He is 40 years old. He is trying to stay active until that chance presents itself again so I guess I can understand his decision making here. I just wish he would come out and explained it how it is.

It definitely has the looks of it. Why would you want to fight the loser of that fight, when the winner is calling for you...
