I say go ahead.... Nice to see Lara get a fight 4 months after his last fight. With that said, I don't think very highly of Smith at all, I do like the fact that he's a contender season 1 alum. Hope he doesn't cry afterwards
Horrible date though.... you have Hopkins/Shumenov the week before.
Turn that into a triple header with Quillin
Might as well fight him if there's no other worthier opponent available and try to get a bigger fight later this year (Molina or Canelo). Hope Lara blasts him out early on, which he is very capable of doing.
Doubt Schaeffer does him any favors after he sued him
Yea there is no way they would want to rely on a guy like him, bad blood and he is very flaky plus with being flaky like that who knows when he slips up again.
Sure beating him would be superior to Smith but not by enough to make GBP want to deal with him.
On top of that who knows is Kirkland would even want to mess with GBP, they seemed to be doing at least a decent job for him (after sticking by him through some pretty rough times) but he obviously did not agree.
Is it me, or has ishe smith been around forever, never seems to win a big fight, has a horrible style, no fan base, yet keeps getting fights and just wont go away
Why are people bringing up Kirkland, he dogged GBP when they did a lot for him and went to 50 cent who is not exactly on sound terms with GBP either.
Doubt Schaeffer does him any favors after he sued him
Lara should have taken the Mundine fight so he could have legend killer in his resume.
Maybe after Clottey and Scaheffer has Canelo fight somebody else
Another snooze fest for Lara. How long before these promoters learn how to match up boring runners like Lara, Rigo and others? All you have to do is look for Angulo type or Kiko Martinez type fighters. Give him Kirkland.
