Lucas just seems too small for WW. would he really go for Thurman?
I think Floyd knows, just as everyone else does too and Al Haymon, that Maidana vs Mayweather alone just isn't going to gather much interest, throwing in Matthysse vs Thurman, and/or Khan vs Collazo will certainly make it a big seller.
I've been hearing Collazo vs Broner a lot ... if that were to happen, where does it leave Khan?
I really don't get the point of this fight... Sure it would be a great action fight, but Lucas needs to stay busy and build himself back up at 140 and try and get a Danny rematch in the fall or a vacant belt when Danny vacates and moves up
Lucas needs to fight spadafora, either Peterson brother, maybe someone like Prescott..
Thurman needs to stay active and learning his craft,, him vs Julio Diaz, then a big name welter like ghost, Alexander, porter...
Funny how Lucas was hailed as the new manny and now is getting cashed out vs Thurman
I don't believe Thurman/Matthysse is happening. Why would Matthysse fight Thurman as his first fight at 147?
Because he would be there as a chance for Thurman to build his name, regardless of anyone's opinions, such as mine, that Lucas would win. This would be a fight for One Time, not for Lucas to enter the division as a real threat.
And it's not like Matthysse is caring about taking it easy to build his name.
lol PPV is going to be 80$ next year watch, and we're getting more and more of em. Soon we will see people on the street with a cup and cardboard reading "went broke on PPV"

it moves the needle for me. mares doesn't really get me that excited in a comeback fight and he's already taking one spot. If Thurman-Matthysse is added i instantly buy this card. If its just mayweathers bums on the undercard with mares i'll definitely pass on this card. they're going to really sell maidana on his punching power and some casuals might be hooked by that but not me. i bought floyd-canelo because of matthysse-garcia. that fight broke the ppv record for a reason and its not just because of the mexican fans and floyd. that fight undeniably had something to do with it as well. thurman-matthysse is a dream match. they could put whoever they wanted in that 4th slot and i'd buy it for this fight. i wouldn't buy this fight on its own but coupled with mayweather the answer is an emphatic yes.
I'm going to a bar anyways for this fight, so it really doesn't matter, but if I had to buy it or else I couldn't watch it, then yes, I'd buy it, IF Lucas/Thurman's on the under card.
Most asinine thing I have read today. You Floyd haters are sad. You paying 70 bucks to see Thurman/Matthyse?
I get what the TS is saying but it just doesn't seem realistic. If Thurman and Matts headlined a card the fight wouldn't be PPV. If it were, there is no way GBP would charge that much.
The fight surely wouldn't be in an arena, unless it was in Argentina in front of Matts home crowd.
They always stack the undercards, even when the main event is already sold..they stacked the Canelo-Floyd card, and didn't really need to..but that's the good thing about GBP vs TR...anyways I'm buying it regardless, this will be the first Floyd fight I haven't attended in a while!
Thats the only way they are getting my money.

for the people on this site, its not a great fight.. but to casuals? they prob think they guy that just beat broner can do the same to floyd cause of the shoulder roll.. arum is right when he said most casuals dont care about the undercard so its not like lucas vs thurman will add an extra 200k buys
