It's either a slow or small opponent for Thurman. When is this guy going to get tested? Porter backed out of the fight because he's too small for Thurman. Why not Thurman vs Lara? Lucas small for Thurman? Lucas is 169cm and Keith is 170cm... They have the same reach... In addition Thurman is a good mid range hooker but he doesn't seem to display such a great defence against pressure fighters... But the fight is yet to be officially announced... So...

So? A lot of these nerds have said Khan duked Devon, so what makes Maidana any different? Same circumstances, a duck is a duck it's not the same circumstances. Khan was given the fight with D. Alexander and had a televised fight date on Showtime which he chose not to take. there's a reason Shawn Porter filled it. It was supposed to be Khan vs Alexander **when did Maidana ever have a fight offer and date vs Thurman? Hell of a card if true. I wanna see broner on there too but I dont see this fight or broner wanting to be 2nd runner up to the main event take it with a grain of salt, but Broner-Collazo is listed for May 3rd, on the Mayweather-Maidana undercard

it's a great fight if true and may save the card ... seems like a big risk for lucas though ... you'd think they'd be queuing up to fight broner/kahn

the commentators acted like thurman got rocked by karass but after watching the replay several times its obvious they exaggerated. he actually didn't even catch all of that punch flush. he wasn't hurt. Not a good idea for Lucas, moving up and then gettin knocked out by Thrumann Either man could get the ko in this fight. Thurman is the bigger man but he was shook up by Soto Karass in the first round and he's nothing near the puncher Matthysse is.

Not sure why GBP feels the need to make this fight, like many have already stated it seems like they're sacrificing Matthysse to advance Thurman. Plus I'm not sure it does much for Thurman since Matthysse will be the smaller man and unproven at WW. I'd much rather see Thurman face Collazo and have Matthysse comeback against a decent lower tier opponent.

Thurman didn't exactly look that great against a similar Argentinian in Chaves a couple fights ago. Soto-Karass buckled him hard. Matthysse's better than both those guys. I hope Lucas doesn't fight in March and fights on this card He starts training camp in march so there's no possible way he fights that month starting to sound like he'll be in the May/ Chino undercard
