How pathetic is Floyd seriously?
Here is Ellbere (Floyds official spokesman) still giving Khan the run around.
Sending out contracts, wasting a fellow sportsmans time, no class what so ever..People make out Khan to be desperate or the badguy, but in reality it's Floyd making stupid polls, sending out contracts and mentioning names to the media.
I'm glad Khan has finally told them to **** off and fight Maidana. Floyd has no respect for anyone, he's a piss taker with a horrible attitude. No wonder Pacman found it hard to do business with him, Arum had a point with his recent statement
http://www.badlefthook.com/2014/2/21/5435214/ellerbe-amir-khan-is-still-in-the-race-to-face-floyd-mayweather-no
I also found it funny that khan gave away the floyd vs maidana fight before floyd had a chance to make one of his announcements he so loves making :lol1:
They must be sitting their thinking, how the fuck did khan get to name my opponent before I did :lol1:
It's not exactly a secret who Floyd was considering. If Khan knows, or thinks he knows, that it's not him, then it's Maidana.
You misunderstood, I am not saying casuals all remember Maidana/Alexander at all. But anyone who hasn't heard of Chino but may be interested in him may look up some past fights on youtube or what not. All it will take is a few views of Maidana vs Alexander or Khan to see this guy has no shot against a guy like Floyd.
And that hype doesn't mean anything if they announce the fight now. Its literally about 9 weeks until fight night and there has been no official announcement as i write this. That's not enough time to take an unknown guy and make him out to be a world beater. Canelo had been fighting on Floyd's PPV's since 2010, he was a known quantity.
I think you are over selling how much work the average joe would take to find about about Chino. Especially since Showtime will be showing several of his more impressive fights during the lead and introduce him during the all access series.
I agree time is running out, but the real build up to the fight really doesn't kick in until about a month out. IF the announce in the next day or two they should have enough to build up hype for the fight.
I am looking outside of the NSB bubble. His win over Broner was front page news on ESPN, so to say it didn't get people's attention is inaccurate. And I think you missed my point, it hasn't changed the average joe's opinion yet because they haven't been sold it yet. Once they start selling Maidana as someone who can beat Floyd then you will see some people starting to think he has a shot. Hell, no one on here was saying anything about Maidana having a shot, now you see several people thinking he can do it. It's obvious he doesn't, but people hate Floyd so much they latch onto anything they can.
As for the Alexander fight, if you didn't think the Maidana-Broner fight moved the needle how can you think his fight with Alexander did? That fight was over two years ago, the average joe sports fan isn't gonna remember that let alone know who Devon Alexander is.

I respect Floyds abilities as a boxer, he indeed is the p4p1 in my eyes, and a living legend
However this whole affair has opened my eyes to some of his dirty tatics and moves he and his team do behind the scenes and validated Pacmans interactions with Floyd
In the ring he is a master out of the ring he is classless clown who's ego has gone way out of control.
cool, you should follow Thuggery's example :boxing:
wait, so you're not a Floyd poofter anymore?

anyone who really knows boxing knows floyd would never fight khan. khan would have simply overwhelmed old mayweather with his speed and activity. it would have been hopkins-taylor all over again. khan hit it on the head floyd is running scared of him. clearly he ducked khan despite khan winning the polls in overwhelming fashion. floyd knows he would have lost that fight so he took the "safe" fight
Ellerbe full of sh*t, as usual. It's actually pretty funny that Khan just thought "f*ck it" and basically announced the fight :lol1:
Arum got into his head, he knows that Amir's personality is a mix of self-entitlement and insecurities and it's no coincidence that Khan broke protocol (after probably demanding whether he was getting the fight or not) days after Arum stirred the pot.
Lol it was a great chess move by Arum, i have to say
In his latest interviews Khan basically dissed his "team". i.e GBP
Its funny how quickly Richard Schaefer replied to Arums accusations and how defensive he was about his relationship with Khan. Arum is obviously trying to coax Khan away from GBP
I hope Maidana lands the Mayweather fight. Khan hasn't won a significant fight since he beat Judah...and that says a lot since Judah had been done years before Khan fought him.
Maidana is coming off a Knockout winning streak and just beat the guy that was hyped as being the next Mayweather. Khan for beat up by a bum and received a gift cause he was at home.
This thread is trash.

GBP protecting their cash cows from perceived threats is not new. They did it on Broner, Canelo and now Khan. GBP dropping the Alexander fight was a dumb move. They would have taken the risk and went ahead with the fight. Khan beating Alexander would have given him a legit shot at Mayweather. I don't know what they were thinking when they knew fans would raise hell at Khan's current standing vs Mayweather. Khan may have lost to Alexander. But that's boxing. Now they might end up not getting the Khan/May made because of so many issues.
I think uncle bob was right ... Kahn got given some bad advice and got played for a fool. Put his career on hold for floyd and got disrespected and lied to. A good lesson for anybody else out there. Don't just hang around waiting for the phone to ring.
He has allowed himself to be put into a crap situation cause really nobody can say he deserves the fight cause ain't done sh*t to earn it. He should have just forgotten about floyd and concentrated on his own career instead of putting his career on hold based off a few flimsy promises.
Khan thought he was getting an olive branch extended, but the problem was floyd, ellerbe and the people who convinced him to sign had already wiped their ass with said branch . So in reality Khan is just left holding a stick full of sh*t.
i think ur delusional mate
i actually dont give a **** who gets the fight anymore and i am coming froma logical stand point to why floyd will and will not pick both figthers
if maidana was that lucrative floyd wud have announced it ages ago, like he did with canelo.
right now floyd is stuck and is weighing up the pros and cons financially
whoever he picks will boil down to money and nothing else, if he can make maidana take a lower purse %, maybe that will sway him.
u are taking the average joes for granted, the canelo fight messed everything up for floyd, maidana nor khan are anywhere near as hyped as canelo, nobody believes either khan or maidana can touch floyd, its juts a matter of who brings in betting customers and ppv numbers
I mean, I think we both agree he will choose who brings in the most money. I am arguing it's Maidana and according to Dan Rafael the general feeling at Showtime is the same.
As for the Canelo fight, no one thinks this ppv comes even close to that. Canelo is the next Mexican superstar. That's where those buys came from.
On another note, it sure doesn't seem you could care less since you post anti Maidana stuff any where you can and you are constantly *****ing about Khan getting a raw deal.
Mayweather has two **** fights he can make, Maidana is just the better one for him imo.
Your overestimating how in tune the average Joe is paying attention to boxing when its not a PPV. That fight was big for Maidana but it was barely mentioned on the major sports networks and Maidana is not a very marketable personality. If you get out of the NSB bubble Maidana's win didn't really move the needle in terms of people thinking he has a shot against Floyd.
Plus its not like anyone will be giving Maidana anything other than a punchers chance. People though Canelo would give Floyd a good fight, people even though Guerrero could rough Floyd. It is widely known that Maidana is tailor made for Floyd and all anyone needs to do is see how maidana has faired against skilled guys like Alexander to see that we would be in store for another UD snoozefest. At least with Khan the prospect of a Floyd KO would be very high. Style wise Maidana/Floyd would be similar to Rios/Pacquiao.

This is just asinine. The Berto Robert beat was no longer seen as a big player in the sport and was not regularly getting 1 million plus viewership for his fights like Broner was. Whether it was deserved or not, the The Problem was a household name in the sport and to compare his name recognition to Berto at any point in his career is laughable.
The average Joe will see how impressive and big Maidana's last win was against an undefeated guy who both networks ran features on promoting him as the next Floyd Mayweather. They will see a guy who beat someone who kind of looks, acts, and sounds like Floyd and think "maybe this guy can do it". And several of them will buy into it. It's not rocket science, it is the same thing strategy they have been using to promote PPV's for years and I don't see this is finally the ppv where most people wake up and say no more.
I get it, you're butt hurt Maidana may get the fight over Khan, but you are not using logic here.
And don't throw a fight from 3 years ago to try and argue your point about the average joe boxing fan because they probably don't even remember the fight ever happening. You know what they probably remember about Amir Khan? Seeing him on his ass against Danny Garcia, talk about a hard sell.
i think ur delusional mate

I disagree completely. See my above post, Broner was a big name in boxing whether his record deserved it or not, so beating Broner who was being billed as the next Floyd Mayweather is something they can really use to promote the fight with Maidana.
Your overestimating how in tune the average Joe is paying attention to boxing when its not a PPV. That fight was big for Maidana but it was barely mentioned on the major sports networks and Maidana is not a very marketable personality. Alexander never wanted Khan. Khan's style was all wrong for him. His team was all set to price themselves out. They're getting ready to give Khan hell in the negotiating table. Look at how easy they made the Porter fight. They didn't even blink. Only to get punked. All in all it was Schaefer (and Haymon) who dropped the fight thinking Khan might lose and Mayweather would end up without a dancing partner.
So why is Floyd Safetyweather and his official spokesman sending him contracts, making polls and still saying he might get the fight.
If he doesnt deserve it why does ur idol Floyd have him right at the top of his list with Maidana?
Ur pathetic idol is a disgrace, if he doesnt deserve it fair enough, but why mention his name, ur idol Floyd sure thinks he might deserve a shot
Shuldnt u be ridiculing Floyd as opposed to Khan for even having him in the running as a possible opponent
You say Khan has a ego, well if Floyd was hyping u up as a possible opponent and sending u contracts, it'd also build urt self-esteem and boast ur ego as a boxer.
The problem lays with Floyd, the buck stops with him.
If a fine woman shakes her ass infront of u and invites u around for sex and u get to her crib and start ****in her and just as ur about to cum she says "no no rape"
Well in this anaology that woman is Floyd and Khan is the one gettin led on
Why is khan getting a chance? Easy, cause of money. This Is prize fighting. And khan had an ego wayy before this while Floyd thing. He has an excuse for everything and thinks he's untouchable. He even thinks Floyd is running from him and comparing himself to PAC. C'mon now. Bragging about knocking down PAC in sparring and saying he himself has never been knocked down at 152 pounds lol.
The average joe already brought into the Canelo Floyd hype, they will not be fooled again.
Canelo was a much bigger man who was made out to be a "beast" and the fight was a snoozefest with no action or drama, thankgod for Lucas and Danny who saved the card
They tried the same with The Ghost, when he beat another guy who was being hyped up as another Floyd and possible opponant in Berto.
The average joe and boxing casual fans will not believe Madiana, a small guy, very slow and i think most are fed up of Floyd trying the same trick 3 times in a row.
Also the fact he is throwing Khans name in the mix - a guy who beat Maidana, doesnt fair well for hyping Madiana as this indestructible foe.
Floyd is stuck in a very hard place with both options, he is crunching up the numbers, look at what the PPV buys wll be like, also Vegas needs some high punters coming in, thus the venue and investors will be hoping for big money being put on the fight, thats where Khan comes to play with those billion dollar arabs, who will only watch boxing and bet large sums if someone they know is involved. A lot of hype is made of the bets that come on when Floyd fights, its a lucrative weekend for Vegas.
Floyd might just not fight in May, to save himself from embarrassment, he cares about the numbers to much and with a Pac vs Bradely fight around the corner, he'd be looking a fool if he doent eclipse that fight.
So he's still trying to play this stupid game in hopes it will bring in some publicity

This goes against the facts though, after Khan went silent on the fight and took his hat out of the running Alexander and his team that includes Haymon and GBP kept negotiating with Khan to try and make the fight. On top of that why were they even negotiating with Alexander in the first place if they knew Khan was going to be in the running for the fight?
Schaefer was the one who went silent. Khan was just following what he was instructed to do. Did you hear a word from Schaefer at that time?
