Paul Williams was suppose to fight canelo which would of been a great fight in my eyes. But shortly after the fight was set he had a accident and now unable to walk. What was your reaction on the matter ? And what if the fight happened like it was suppose to, who would of won??
Off topic but can anyone answer y I lose my rep points it was green and 6 yesterday now is red and 0 what that mean on this site? I started my bank today trying to use new things on this site so maybe cause I did that it took away my rep points?? idk or do you get it took in away with a bad thread?
i was at a red hot chili peppers concert sitting down before the openers started, and the girl i was with was like "you ok?", so yeah i guess i looked pretty shocked when I read it on my phone
I was pretty devistated, it was a similar pain to when I heard Chico (R.I.P) crashed his motorcycle.
I pray that one day he is able to regain control of his legs to some extent.
Was quite sad about it actually, he was one of my favourite fighters in Boxing. Missed what he bought to the game and still do. So many great matchups that can be made with Williams. I wish he fought in a top quality camp from a young age, he could have gone down as a ATG. He had all the tools.
I felt horrible, here is a humble guy (means he trains and sees himself as an underdog), soft spoken, no cursing, someone you can tell a kid to look up to a feel good about it. A monster at 147 and a challenge for anyone. One of those weird physical anomalies at such a weight class with Hearns and Corrales because of his size alone let alone his ****ing work rate and chin. One of those Salvador Sanchez 'could have been' hypotheticals for all the wrong reasons
It was a stunning disappointment. I was in disbelief. He had so much potential and he was in tons of exciting fights. There was so much future for him that he never got to uncover because he was ended way too soon. It sucks, but yeah, that's life for you. You live life on the edge and sooner or later there is bound to be trouble... Just ask Chico.
Seeing how well he took Lara's punches I think Williams still had something left. Especially against an orthadox fighter with questionable stamina like Canelo.
**** Trout won 5 rounds with a weak jab and workrate.
I agree. He would have won that fight. Even that Punisher was as good as Trout, probably better, actually. He would have committed where Trout didn't and won.
I wish Paul Williams was put in charge of the WBC. A Former world class fighter that understands skilled non big name fighters being ducked. Perfect candidate to lead a World Boxing sanctioning body.
Definitely agree.. he should get a job doing something involving the sport of boxing..

Lol it was a joke don't take it personal lol my point is **** like this happens to good people while the scumbags get the best luck.. If you read the start of what i said quote I wouldn't wish this on no one.. I have a cuzin who got shot and now In a wheel chair so I experience this personally..
Like winning the mega million it be some person who wins and invest in a santantic church but the person who would have good intention would never win a mega million
The best thing about Williams is it seems like he has a great attitude about it. There's an interview from a couple years back where he's smiling and optimistic. I'd like to hear from him now though.
I was not a Paul Williams fan.....I didn't like the fact he gave away his height like that....I felt like he took way too many punches than needed....I would literally spazz out watching him fight.....but when I heard about his accident I was choked up.....regardless of the way I felt about his style, Big Pun was a real dude....he'd fight anybody and I do appreciate him way more in his absence than I did when he was taking everybody he fought to war!!
It's funny how that works....anyway, I miss Big Pun alot!!...I didn't think he'd beat Nelo at that time....Big Pun was shot and Nelo's peeps knew it
