I think the problem is that people cant accept and are mad that the best boxer to ever lace up a pair of gloves is a:
Trash talking, Boastful, Young, Super Rich, Loud Mouth Black Man.
I think its eating them alive.
He's not even the best fighter of our generation. He'll need to win titles in at least 2 more divisons before he even becomes a contender for fighter of our generation.
Manny's career spans 11 divisions (although you could argue 10 and a half since he fought Margarito at 150). Floyd's career spans only 5 (less than half) and that is with multiple ducks along the way.
It's like this.
1. Every upcoming fighter is looking to make a name for himself and calling out all fighters, including "dangerous fighters". Floyd did it too once upon a time, believe it or not. He called out Mosley, De La Hoya, Tszyu, Casamayor, Naseem at (at 130) back in their prime, they rejected him.
2. Every fighter who is already established will always look for the biggest money fights, barring promotional/network rivalries and complications.
It's not that hard to see, Floyd is just verbally open about it, other fighters aren't, but show it in their actions. But your favorite fighters do the same thing, they're not gonna fight for peanuts once they get to a certain level, and when they're desperately trying to make it big they call every one out to at least make a name for themselves by seemingly wanting every one.
It's like 50 said, he walked away from a hundred million dollars, just left it on the table, what fighter does that?
You're right to say that fighters chase the money but most of them have pride too, where the money's available the top fighters won't walk away from dangerous fights.
Nothing to do with him saying "I want to fight this guy, but not definitely that guy"?
50 Cent spelt it out, if you're looking at history books Floyd's not that guy, he openly talks about choosing opponents for the money and least challenge, it's nothing more than business to him.

Molina vs Andrade winner fights Floyd, that would be a nice addition to his resume, and a huge upgrade from a fighter like Khan. But as far as historical significance, there's nothing there. He already captured the 154 WBC 2x, WBA, and Ring title which for him being a former SFW is already a huge feat.

Canelo likely beats every jmw not named Floyd. I think he could beat Lara honestly

Yep that was the best, and he unified the meaningless trinkets and was the universally recognized best in the divion.
I'm sorry it wasn't margarito when pac fought him at 154 ;-)

How would Lara be the best in the division when he drew with both Molina, and Vanes Martirosyan who were, and still are, as good as him until proven otherwise?
But no, Canelo was, pre-Maywether, the best in the division because he beat Trout, who was apparently the best in the division after he beat Cotto.
At least, that`s what I gather from reading the various Trout vs Cotto pre and post fight threads on this site, where it was said that Canelo would never fight Trout because Trout was too good and too slick.
It`s kind of amusing really. It seems that today's Boogeyman that everyone is avoiding is tomorrows bum that everyone quickly forgets.
I guess when Lara loses, which he came perilously close to doing against Angulo, people desperate to find a credible challenge for Mayweather will move on to someone else.
Floyds ducking Molina! Floyds ducking Jermall Charlo! Lol...
Actually you are incorrect about people revising history. The majority of fans had Trout beating Canelo. There is a blog run by a guy who keeps note of fans' and reporters' scoring of fights. His blog is called 'Fight Score Collector'. I remember he came into this very forum and asked us what our scores were, and he used those scores in his tally. I'll leave the link here:

So you expect me to believe that the fans thought Canelo was the best at light middleweight, a beast, but they also believed he lost to Trout? That doesn't make any sense.
As for Lara being the best at light middleweight, I think it is almost indisputable. As mentioned, the majority had Trout beating Alvarez. Trout also beat Cotto. The only person to beat Trout, then, was Lara. The 2 draws you mentioned were against top 10 light middleweights, and draws are not losses. Lara was the victim of a robbery against Williams and the only other person to beat Williams at 154 was Martinez and he needed 2 attempts to do it.
only way to know for sure he can get all the belts is to fight the belt holders but he is not going to do that no money involve with some of the belt holders and high risk
First thins first, he should fight the best 147 guy and beat him first, stop avoiding the best fighers in the divisions as you go up the weights, didn't he avoid hatton at 140 and opted for Gatti?
But now he has waited so long a weaker top 147 guy in Bradley comes along, see, the cherry picking helps Floyd he can just wait until a weaker champs comes along, no wonder Floyd does what he does
If all 154 champs are as slow footed as Canelo, Floyd can clean up as long as he drains them 2lbs as well.
best guy at 147 is Floyd..#1 contender is Bradley and he is with Top Rank and fights on HBO
He schooled Lara? I must have been taking a dump when that happened.
