Serious question time people. As Khan was victorious in the Mayweather Promotions poll, if the p4p number 1 ducks Khan and instead fights a far inferior opponent like Maidana because he's possibly afraid of the style match up against Khan, should Floyd's position as the P4P #1 automatically be handed over to Khan?
Afterall, Mayweather put up a poll, Khan won and now there are (probably false) rumors circulating that he's going to try to escape Khan's clutches. But, if that did happen, and given the unique circumstances that we have with the poll, should Khan automatically be recognized universally as the pound for pound number one boxer on the planet, in an official capacity?
It could easily be seen as Mayweather essentially conceding defeat by avoiding Khan. Is Khan automatically p4p #1 if Mayweather now ducked him, especially after he won the official Mayweather Promotions poll?
It could be time to update your p4p lists folks. The king is dead, long live the King.

Even if Maidana was inferior (which he isn't) and even if Floyd was scared of Khan (which he isn't) and ducked him (which he isn't), it still wouldn't be enough for Khan to be #1 p4p. Khan has to earn it, and he simply isn't good enough. Period.
What are you talking about? Khan is already the #1 P4P king of the sport. He's also still technically undefeated because his trainers are to blamed for his loses.
Dude, come on...ducking someone or even being scared of them, none of that matters or can affect a ranking between those fighters in reality until they fight. If you look at this 'unique situation' like a rational person, Maidana deserves this fight more than Khan. Khan lives on his overrated hand speed and past wins, the reality is he's pretty much shop-worn and is coming off losses and ducks himself of guys like Alexander cos he wants a Floyd payday. Really, these polls don't particularly matter or are the be-all and end-all. It's common knowledge that most of Khan's voters are from his social media, a lot of which are casual fans at best, some that just 'watch boxing' when their hero Khan fights someone. Most true boxing fans and people involved in the sport know Maidana deserves this particular fight. Khan should not be given anything free, especially no p4p rankings...if so then Pac should have ages ago, just because there was no poll doesn't mean the majority didn't want that fight...in fact they still do and Floyd knows this. Khan's interest is up and down to say the least.
Khan beat Maidana.. Maidana beat an overrated Broner so if that makes you think he "deserves" a fight with Mayweather over Khan then I can't agree. Remember, many people thought Malignaggi beat Broner too so that's Two fighters Khan beat who went on to (in Paulie's case, arguably) beat Broner..
Broner really is an overrated fighter, I think there are fans such as yourself who still don't acknowledge or accept that fact. Some want to cling on to the belief that he's better than he really is. He has a lot of potential but right now he's nowhere near as good as you thought.
He won the official poll, he did everything he could to make the fight happen but if the p4p#1 ducks him after he won the official Mayweather poll, what more can Khan do? He did everything humanly possible to prove himself in the ring but if Floyd hesitates and ducks out at the critical moment then by rights the p4p#1 crown needs to be transferred to Khan post-haste.

Well if Floyd avoids khan, he is a serial ducker. If Khan beats Floyd on the other hand, he deserves no1 I suppose.
Pac lost to Bradley and wasn't Bradley then put above Pac, as was JMM when he beat Pac. And this is considering he beat Bradley and was beating JMM and had beaten JMM 3 times already.

.
NO.p4p rankings are not in Mayweather's ownership therefore his silly poll should have no bearing on Khan's ranking. Setting up the poll and failing to go with the winner is abusing the public and reflects poorly on Mayweather but rankings should be earned in the ring not by **** ups in polls.
Not just the Mayweather Poll, Amir WoN Skysports (WorldWide), Instagram and twitter polls too and by Wide margins. I'm not paying To watch Gaydana (Canelo v 2.0 expired) vs Mayweather.
Good points, and to me the Mayweather Promotions poll is the most important one because it's the original and official poll which Khan won too!
As I've mentioned several times, it's a unique situation so you need to approach it in a unique way. Think about it - if Floyd didn't fight Khan after Khan won the official Mayweather Promotions poll, that is undeniable ducking, its not an opinion. The evidence for the duck would be based on Mayweather's own official poll results so again, it's undeniable that Floyd would have ducked the winner of his own official "next opponent" public poll.
That situation has never happened in history. It is a very unique situation. Think about it, it has far wider implications than most of you are comfortable admitting. It would literally be an unprecedented duck.
Is Khan Automatically P4P #1 If Mayweather Avoids Him?
I have another question:
What does it feel like to be that stupid? Are you in constant pain every time your weak brain tries to put some thoughts together, or are you in some constant lobotomized blissful world of your own?
I wouldn't say number 1 but he would be somewhere in top 5 p4pIf Khan is one of the five best pound for pound fighters in the world then Diaz should be in the top 10 since he came close to beating Khan in his last fight. Garcia should be number one or two because he recently KOed Khan and Peterson should be #4 since he also recently beat Khan. The only list of mine Khan goes on is the most overrated boxer by his loyal fans list.

This question is not serious.
When did you start watching boxing?
So...without having to do anything like actually beating the P4P #1, and losing your last big fights, ducking out of other fights to try and get undeserved shots v Mayweather to cash out on, and if that was stopped from happening (as it should) Khan somehow inherits the No. 1 position?
Allow future Floyd to tell you my answer:

I don't know what happened to the site but i'll repeat what i said. Floyd put up a poll to choose an opponent - either Khan or Maidana. He never did this with Pacquiao so it's not the same thing. You can't categorically state that he ducked Pacquiao - it's just an opinion.
But by putting up a poll and then choosing the loser of that poll as his opponent, that is a categorical, undeniable duck of Khan by Floyd. There's no denying it in this case - it's a very unique situation because has Floyd ever put up a poll before?
So if Floyd did duck Khan, in this specific, unique case where the duck is completely undeniable, out in the open, highly visible and irrefutable, then perhaps Khan should be awarded p4p #1 status. Nothing like this has happened before, it's a unique situation and I think deserves a unique reaction.
Your nationalistic pride is commendable, but you got to keep your feet on the ground. A mere con top 20 is funny, at #1 is down right hilarious
