Marcos Maidana will be confirmed as Mayweather's May 3rd Opponent, Khan is Out

News has leaked that Marcos Maidana has been selected as Floyd Mayweather's opponent for May 3, 2014. It was widely believed that Khan would be the opponent after winning Mayweather's fan poll, but from the looks of things--particularly the talk over at Mayweather's gym--it looks as if Mayweather will once again shock the boxing world and select Maidana as his next opponent. For proof, see the first minute of Elie Seckbach's most recent interview with Roger Mayweather: youtube/yPaSpIiSeJw This also makes sense considering Khan's most recent tweets and Facebook posts, asking Mayweather to contact him about the fight. He hasn't been contacted yet about the fight because he isn't getting it, Maidana is. Also, it makes sense because Mayweather hates being predictable and doing what everyone else expects him to do.

Good for marcos! without pacquiao and bradley el chino is by far the best option for mayweather at 147 and besides he has wba belt .... and all those haters who talks trash about maidana but i guess no one miss one single fight of marcos because all of his fights are FOTY candidate...just wait till may 3 and let's see whats happens when el chino lands his first right hand

Floyd is really a welterweight. Even when he's fought at junior middleweight, he'd be 150 at the weigh in. The Canelo fight he didn't gain a pound over night. That means that either he didn't eat anything for over 24 hours or he's just small for the division. not sure if your being sarcastic but he obviously ate. he didn't eat any less than he normally eats. not gaining weight indicates ,as you said, he is small for the division and he was in tremendous shape and had great metabolism.

Khan won many other polls the 3 poles which maidana won have only like 3000 votes barely combinaed and one was american, while khan won skysports poll by a wide margin,instagram pole by a mile and skysports worldwide and mayweather promotons poll too which was run by lockerdome a well respected side which is supported by over 3000 companies so no question of rigging.. See this is the problem. Chino is going to lose 11-1 in a **** fight. Khan would get KO in about 6-7 rds in an entertaining fight. Maidana deserves it though so I'm ok with it I guess.
