According to Barthelemy, who got stripped off his title after his win turned into no contest, he says Mendes is now willing to move 5 pounds north and not giving Barthelemy a well deserved rematch. That rumor has Rances angry and calls Mendes a coward, which to myself its clearly the right word to describe that move by the dominican.

Mendes should move up if he knows he'll be depleted at the weight , then have Barth rematch Usmanee for the vacant belt.mendes is the one that needs the rematch, but i like the Barthelemy-usmanee fight if the dominican goes up,

I dont know i can go back in time, but what i do know is they can simply fight at 135
A fight at 135 wouldn't be for a belt. And Mendez weighed in at 128. How's that struggling with weight?

As long as he fights for the belt I'm ok, let mendes run and hide in the 135 division Barthelemy is 5'11" and will outgrow the division soon enough, then mendes can have his rematch, the way I see it is mendes the one that have to prove something not the Cuban, after all he was the one that gktfo...
Because Barthelemy doesn't fight at 135, and if the belt matters to him yes it matters.
Very true you can't ko someone after the bell and as a result we have a NC in addition to a mandate for a rematch which Mendes is clearly trying to get out of.
Doesnt mean he cant
Ok so if belts matters more, he cant fight for it.
To avoid getting demolished once again obviously.
He landed a shot late, don't think it was intentional it was just after the bell when he was so focused on finding the big shot he knew he was close.....just got it a bit late so the NC is fair play even if I don't like it but it looks bad him moving up and vacating.
How is it avoiding if he will fight at 135 i dont understand? Now all the sudden belts matter?
Doesnt matter, you cant KO someone after the bell.
There's no debating with you, man. It's an exercise in futility. I've never seen you make a single concession. Once you lean in one direction, you'll defend it to the bitter end -- even if you have to rationalize till kingdom come.
Mendez won his case. Cool. Now he needs to pay the justice forward and rematch Barthelemy at 130.
Nothing to rationalize. If Mendez doesnt believe he can make 130 healthy and will fight at 135, then i dont see the problem. It would be nice at 130 for a belt but if Mendez cant make it then i dont really see the problem at 135 unless he wants a belt. Then he can fight for it
So now because of a ref not doing his job Barthelemy should have to fight two different fights in addition to one already fought to get back what he had?
The ref did not punch mendez after the bell, im not having this convo again. You cant KO someone after the bell, it was all his fault. Mendez was robbed with the decision at the time, not barth. It doesnt matter that he was winning
Now your just trolling us Russian:lol1: I don't recall Mendez spending the last few years at higher weights and suddenly moving down.
The punch came late yes it was very close to the bell and the ref should have been on top of it.
Thats not the point, you can make ur weight and not be healthy. If Mendez wont fight him at 135, then yea its a clear duck. But you cant blames a fighter who doesnt think he cant make weight healthy. Why would he just drop the belt for no reason
It clearly came after the bell and since the ref didnt make the right call, the commission did. KOing someone after the bell? Cmon
If Mendez will fight him at 135, then whats the problem? Why would he drop the 130 belt and fight him at 135 if he can make 130? Out of spite?
Making weight doesnt mean you made it healthy, just look at DLH in the Pac fight. If he doesnt wanna fight at 135, then he will get a shot at the belt, so i dont see what all the complaining is about. Maybe he shouldnt have fouled him and won the first fight

Because that is not the weight class Barthelemy competes in and its for no title so its just a random fight for no reason or purpose. A fight against Mendez only furthers Barthelemy along in his career if its for a title but yes he can fight some random guy for a belt though shouldn't have to because Mendez should not duck him by vacating and moving up.
How does it being for a belt make it any different? If he wants a belt, hell get it. If he wants Mendez' name, fight him at 135
What are you talking about? Mendez doesn't hold a title at 135. Perhaps he never will. And even if he did, who's to say he'd grant Rances a rematch? Maybe it would be Barthelemy who does better at lightweight. Maybe Rances won't move up anytime soon. The rematch has to be done now, at 130. Otherwise, yes, it's a duck.
So if its the title he wants, then fight for it, he is the mando after all. If mendez says no at 135, then yea its a duck
Can't have your cake and eat it, too? lol Please....
You were relentless in your pursuit of "Justice for Argenis." I didn't have a problem with it. But now you're taking a very casual stance towards the rematch at 130, citing "rumors" and Mendez's "health." The twenty seven year old Argenis is done growing, and he weighed well under the junior lightweight limit for the Barthelemy fight. Maybe he screwed up his preparation, but Mendez is clearly not having trouble making weight. Both these guys have campaigned plenty at 130. Their rematch should be at that weight.

Whats the problem if Mendez wants to fight him at 135, how exactly is that a duck?

I think so. Regardless, what is important is getting lost in all of this which is Barthelemy still getting a shot at a title.
Barthelemy just needs another shot at a title whether it be through Mendez or for a vacant title. And that is happening so there is really no reason for anyone to complain.
Depends on what is more important to Barthelemy in regards to getting an official win over Mendez or winning the title but if he wants the fight and Mendez tries to worm out of it by going up to 140 its a clear duck even though that should already be established as the reason why he moved up to 135 in the first place.
If anything I wouldn't be opposed to Barthelemy being thrown some tomato can for the vacant title he should already have anyway.
I would imagine that Barthelemy would prefer to beat a reigning champ than to win a vacant title. I know I would, especially after the controversy. Plus, at this juncture, I think Rances wants to make a point.

I campaigned for a fair outcome within the rules, and Mendez got it. Yet still people are pretending like Barth got rob when he was the one that caused it.
If Mendez feels like he cant make weight and wants to move up then fight him at 135, or stay at 130 and fight for the belt. There were rumors before the fight that mendez had a lot of trouble making weight and frankly it showed. Im down for a rematch, but if Mendez feels he cant make 130 healthy then fight him at 135. Cant have your cake and eat it too
