at their primes if they fought around 122-130, I would go for Erik, but @135 and higher Erik did not carry it as well as Marquez at these weight classes I will go for Juan Ma...

I'm a big fan of both fighters..i'd have to go with a Morales win though.

both guys come in juiced up and im not talking urine. and morales wins.

Morales. Marquez only shot is by knockout. At the very best, disputed decision. Marquez against active action fighters like Morales and Barrera lead to would have led to more close decisions. JMM doesn't have the activity rate to dominate (by decision) ATG's like EM, MB, MP. Decisions would have most often been close however. Only chance is knockout or controversial decision/draw.

Prim El Terrible was just better than Marquez.

prime EM for me. JMM's style won't earn him a UD against Morales. EM's jab would give him the nod on the judges' eyes.

prime barrera wasn't as patient, he was way more reckless. and prime marquez was way quicker, especially with his legs there's a reason why prime barrera and morales ducked him. I wouldn't say they ducked him; he finally got notieraty from the first Manny fight in 04 and by that both MAB and Morales was on there last legs.

Morales would eat Marquez alive, who is a rigid, stiff by comparison.

Why did they never fight?

I like Marquez, but i think Prime Morales beats him and even Prime Barrera beats him.

Morales was smarter, faster, and tougher. People simplified his style, he was a true magician and even showed the bits of card tricks he had left late in his career.

I am going to go with Marquez. Damn I wish they would have fought each other back in the day.

IMO it's impossible to predict a winner but I would simply say Marquez because he's my favorite fighter of all time :headbang: It's a shame this fight never happened specially when they were both in their prime at practically the same time campaigning in the same division it really is a crime they never fought. Ultimately I believe JMM's counterpunching style would overwhelm Morales and earn him a decision in a bloody war.

Morales,,,, all day Morales is a much better all around boxer,, jmm is the better counter puncher but morales is much more well rounded and his jabs and straights that he can turn into uppercuts at the last second would bother jmm all fight.. Plus morales had the chin to walk thru jmm's excellent counters and overwhelm jmm
