Simple question.
After Kovalev KO's Adonis, can he beat Ward at 175 ? I think he can and will if the fight happens at 175.clearly their isn't much left at 168 bar George Groves when he beats Froch.to me it is the logical fight for both.would Ward agree to 175 though, highly doubtful and we know he'd want it to be in Oakland as he has a fear of flying too.
Ward generally likes to outmuscle and rough up his opponents, works well at 168 and it's why he's constantly calling out smaller guys. He wouldn't be able to do that to kovalev at 175, he knows it ... which is why he is so reluctant to move up
Shocked us? You were shocked that Dawson was KTFO?

Nobody was shocked.just surprised Dawson neglected to acknowledge the apparent power of Adonis.

Stevenson did nothing to earn a shot against Dawson. Kovalev is much more relevant in the search for a title than Stevenson was before he shocked us.

Same way your boy Broner earned his shot at Paulie?

I don't see it as a good matchup for Adonis, who doesn't look good when getting backed up, and that's Kovalev's specialty. His only shot is if Kovalev got careless and walked into a big punch.
:lol1: At Kovalev just walking through Stevenson.
It's exactly the way I see it unfolding.Adonis will wish he is cuddling 15 year old girls by the time Sergey is finished with him.
You really think that fight would go the distance? Unless one or both have monster chins, someone's getting flattened IMO. If Stevenson outboxes Kovalev, he's walking him into too many flush shots for the fight to go the distance. And if Kovalev lands on anyone a lot, he'll knock anyone out.
This ^^^^^^
Call me a blind fanboy, but Stevenson isn't putting Kovalev down and he's gonna be tagged in the process of keep Kovalev off of him.when Kovalev launches into his full on assaults it's game over for Adonis or anyone else in the division actually.
Like I said, and going back to the original thread question, the only threat i see in the LH's and south is Andre Ward.Ward's inside game, power and ring nous,he's the only guy I can see taking Krusher into the latter rounds.I honestly don't even think Hopkins would be able to make it into the latter third of the fight.
i agree 100%
dawson however was coming off the worst performance of his career, stevenson was supposed to be a tune up. stevenson didnt deserve to fight dawson but got a lucky break due to the circumstances.
few fighters get that lucky, how often does a world champion move down in weight, get knocked out, move back up and defend his title in a tune up fight?
stevenson is on top of is game, he isnt looking for no tune up fight he is looking for the best. atm hopkins is clearly a more worthy challenger than kovalev, as is pascal and even dawson for that matter and stevenson kind of owes him a rematch considering the circumstances of their first meeting.
they might all have lost fights, but only against fighters better than anyone kovalev ever fought and the same thing goes for their wins. they simply competed at a higher level, kovalev should at least get his feet wet at that level before fighting the main man of the division.
thats all he needs though, one fight. but at this point kovalev hasnt fought a single top 5 175lber, i dont care if he knocked everyone dead in 2 seconds, he doesnt deserve to fight the #1 guy when he hasnt fought anyone in the top 5 and you got a legend like BHop out there still murking fools. its about who you beat first and foremost not just how you beat them.
Why the fcuk is Stevenson fighting guys like Fonfara when their is guys like Hopkins,Shumenov and Kovalev around ? Showtime aligned BHop ain't no excuse.and feasting on guys like Fonfara and Pascal is inexcusable.these are guys who would not have been deemed tests to 'deserve' a title shot by yourself right, yet they're deemed worthy of an optional title defence ? Sillakh is and was just about the only guy willing to face Kovalev.
If Stevenson himself believed he could beat Kovalev why is he replying when directly asked would he like to face Kovalev next,he replies 'I just like to say one thing,HEY Quebec City, his are you ?' Bizarre and peculiar behaviour from the guy who believes he is invincible and impervious to any man bar kryptonite ! It just may turn out Kovalev is made of that very substance, and Adonis may very well know this, thus his inability or unwillingness to answer the question posed to him regarding Kovalev.
No one wanted to face Kovalev, not even Cleverly's handlers wanted him to face Kovalev but Cleverly had his misguided belief in himself he could outbox him.how wrong he himself and his fans were, just like this instance with Stevenson fans believing in him.
Kovalev is a different animal completely to Stevenson,as is Stevenson compared to Cleverly, before you remark Cleverly was a nobody taken twelve rounds by Stevenson's last KO victim.its the manner in which Kovalev destroys his opponents in what appears to be on a whim and timing if his choosing.
I'm all for it, I got Stevenson by UD.

Kovalev won't even beat Stevenson, he'd be shut out completely by Ward.

Ain't gonna be no boxing clinic.KOvalev krushes this bum hard, inside 4-5 rounds.we'll have some absurd odds in your favour closer to the time between ourselves.
