I'm not impressed with Golovkin. He has never fought anyone near the caliber of Groves. I don't see Golovkin even lasting past round 6. Groves annihilates him.
That's a bold statement, I don't know about that. GGG hits harder than Froch, has better boxing skills and probably has a just as good, if not better chin. And Groves' chin is questionable also...I think he could trouble GGG obviously and is better than anyone he's faced so far but I just see GGG stalking him down and stopping him. If Groves can convincingly beat Froch in a rematch I would reconsider. :boxing:

Green sent.
Who is the latter you have quoted,is it Sergey himself ? He says fellow Pole ie Proksa ! Is it Kovalev or not quoted there ?
Great link. Many thanks.
Yeah it's what Kovalev said. Probably feels a sense of unity because Russians and Poles are Slavs.

"There were many sparring sessions. Each one went differently. But I can say for sure that Gena is very strong, and it was really difficult to box against him"

"Or take the world champion in the category of up to 72.6 kg Gennady Golovkin. He stands for Kazakhstan, but I think it is ours. Gena We are on friendly terms, a lot of training together. Golovkin like and does not look very brutal, but what are his punches! Frankly, was stunned when his last opponent Grzegorz Proksa found the strength to reach the fifth round. Fellow Pole! I should not just standing with Golovkin in pairs and know very well the power of his fists. He hits like a sledgehammer. Here's a boxer, which I really like. It has a great future."

Could you source a link for me ? I have high opinion of Kovalev,GGG also.I am of the opinion right now that would be a bridge too far for GGG.weight issues, and bixing ability, not that I am underestimating GGG,but Kovalev is a real powerhouse.

Would be a great fight but i reckon Groves wins a close decision.
Golovkin isn't that big and his power may not have the same effect at 168.
Groves is smart, has fast hands and real power.
Unless somehow, GGG walks through all his punches, in that case he is a juggernaut.
I think that his power would have the same effect at 168, it's just stepping up in skill and class which I think will be the problem.

Not that I expect that opponent to step up to the plate and defend his belt,I think he will contine to hide from Martinez and GGG,using his Showtime smokescreen.
Lets see how GGG does against the bigger dudes at 160 first, although from what I've read GGG has bullied Canelo,JCCJ and Angulo in sparring at the summit.I think he'd KO Groves personally,i like both guys but Froch was hitting him with big shots and GGG closes a ring better than Froch and punches just as hard if not harder.
GGG KO for me.i wanna see GGG finish his business at this weight first though.super middle weight isn't going anywhere.and judging by Groves size neither is he.
And Kovalev.
I think you can definitely make a case for Groves power after flooring Froch. But other than that I think his style could be the difference in this fight, and he'll chin check GGG that's for sure. Good match up that could happen this year if GG moves up in weight.
Groves would get broken down late - GGG would fight nothing like Froch, who sold himself out with the most telegraphed lead right hand over and over.
Lol, GG v GGG :lol1: Whoever wins is a G. Seriously though, I dunno...I don't think Groves could take Gennady's power but he could cause him trouble for sure...tough to call, my instinct tells me Golovkin would do it... 55-45 fight.
55/45 is a touch generous isn't it.Groves struggled against the inaccurate and cumbersome Froch, once Froch upped the pace ! GGG doesn't go through the gears,he comes out in sixth gear and puts on a boxing clinic laden with ferocious power from the opening bell.
I don't see how Grives can deal with that kind of onslaught ! DeGale,Froch and Anderson had the kid shook ! GGG is a different animal.the question of him carrying his power up,genuinely isn't in question is it !
GGG clears up SM when he moves up,with maybe the exception of Ward.which for me is a pick em,maybe 55/45 in Ward's favor due to his experience against the top boys of the division and generous mutilations of light heavies Dawson and Rodriguez !
Has anyone read the reports on Chavez Jr sparring GGG.I read he treat him like a ragdoll, along with Canelo and Angulo.Chavez and Canelo weigh around 170 before fight and on fight night right ? I don't follow those guys too closely, but I hear they walk around heavier, and come in heAvier on fight night, usually around 170 huh ?
