Ali vs tyson and its not even close. Both where huge icons all over the world. Both have outrages personalities both would sell the match up and would determine the baddest man on the planet them being heavy weights and all
Heavyweights rule, everyone knows that! (atleast they used to)
Ali over Tyson 15 round decs. or late tko
SRR vs RL The real Sugar Ray by late tko or decs.
Floyd vs Manny Pacman by decs. 12 rounds.
Ali is the most famous athlete in history.
Pac and Floyd dont fight the best so why are they in this poll?
There are many more-or as- famous athletes in history than Ali. I can name a few here; Jim Thorpe, Babe Didrikson, The Great Gama, Joe Louis, Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson, Babe Ruth, Suzanne Lenglen (the only Super-Class tennis star in history), Jack Johnson, and more. Manny Pacquiao, possibly, since he's a world icon, although he benefits from the global coverage.
Ali just came along at the crucial moment when American politics was heating up. And his outgoing mouthiness was well used by his quip composers (and later by the Muslim Brotherhood) The Vietnam War brought him out, and Howard Cosell's huge publicity backing made him. His not guilty verdict was a politically influenced decision because he was as guilty as blazes and should have gone to gaol, like others did. His racist views are often glossed over. He was always a bit off balance and his low IQ score was genuine......
Tyson would have a mental breakdown and never take the fight
Robinson/Leonard wouldn't happen cos both men would be lookin to trademark "sugar", there would be financial differences and the fight gets abandoned.
Pac/Floyd....seriously, there more chance of snow in hell
wait, all 3 are different excuses floyd would probably use
Out of these 3 fantasy match-ups:
1) Which is the biggest event?
2) Which is the best fight?
3) Who would win each match?
1, ALI TYSON
2. srr vs srl
3. ali, srr, mayweather
You can make an argument that each and everyone of these fights would be very similar in PPV numbers.
So, it's not out of the realm to believe anyone of these fights would be the biggest event.
Ali and Tyson are HUGE, but does that hugeness bring in let's say a million more PPV buys, or a even a couple hundred thousand. I honestly believe there's a cap on maximum PPV buys. It's not like just because Ali's fighting Tyson, you're grandmother will buy it. The same people that would buy Ali/Tyson would most likely buy Pac/Mayweather or Robinson/Leonard in their primes.
I think anyone that would be interested in Ali/Tyson would be interested in Robinson/Leonard, and Pac/Floyd.
