Who and Why the hell is "Mike Lee" in Subway commercials???
Boxing is a funny sport! lmao.. Who is this guy??
I always see this dude on TV, makes no fuccing sense to me at all. Friends have asked me on several different occasions "what boxer is that?" :pat::pat::pat:
You would think they'd have a REAL up and coming Boxer like Danny Garcia. hell even Gary Russell Jr would make more sense
Who and Why????
Cause he also played College ball for Notre Dame
I think it was Tommy Zbikowski who played football at Notre Dame (and some in the NFL).
He fought on the Cotto-Malignaggi card with a bunch of Golden Domers in the crowd. Then had a few more fights several years later, but not much came of it.
I think Mike Lee just boxed at ND.
But yes, it pays to have Notre Dame connections after of college.
Put Brandon Rios on there strictly for the lulz
I can imagine Rios saying " aye foool, subway eat fresh mothrfocker!" I don't think it will work.I think they should use B-suth, if his elite boxer physique doesn't inspire you to eat at subway, I don't know what will.
I swear, this dude at my work was like hey who is that boxer on that Subway commercial, is he pretty good? I was like, no that dude is a journeyman (he had no idea what I meant) who is miles away from the top of the sport.
People know I'm into boxing so they ask me about him too every time that commercial is on. :lol1:
Yeah I don't even think that guy boxes anymore. It'd be nice to see guys like Wilder or Kid Chocolate, or Mikey/Danny Garcia get it instead. Bradley is a vegan so I'm guessing he wouldn't go for it.
Like other have said he's a kid who graduated from Notre Dame. He boxed at Notre Dame and won some school tournament called the Bengal Games or something. Not sure. He was a great student and turned down some Wall Street jobs to box. He used to be a staple of FNFs. I used to make jokes that I was gunna turn his fights into a drinking game and take a shot every time the announcers mentioned Notre Dame, but I'd probably die if the fight went over four rounds. He wasn't very good and very protected. Decent left hook if I remember right. I specifically remember Teddy Atlas saying he had the best agent in boxing because of that commercial, and was kinda douchy when he said it. However everyone agreed because like other have said how the hell did he get that?
That same commercial has been playing for about 4 years, they need a real fighter on there who fights top guys, like Gary Russell Jr

Just goes to show that who you know can be more important than your actual skills and accomplishments.
Some people are born into privilege or have it handed to them while others bust their butt and never get it.
if it aint ____ it aint right.
it should have been a top 10 p4p boxer in that commercial.
sad.
just shows how outdated and useless boxing managers are nowadays.
Uhhhh no. He attempted three passes during his illustrious career, and all three were intercepted and returned for touchdowns.
Okay I just made that sh*t up but I couldn't find any stats at all on the dude.
:haha: me either man, I couldn't find anything either
PRETTY MUCH THIS^^^
Imagine if GGG was american, he'd be on mt rushmore by now. lol:doh:
:haha: picturing GGG on mt Rushmore hahaha
most of your favorite boxers would appear mildly retarded in a commercial.
lee's father has connections in the media. lee is also a handsome young white guy, and makes for a great spokesperson for a sub sandwich that's supposedly marketed as healthy.
i would do whatever nastia liukin asked of me.

How do you know my favorite boxers? haha. He'll Andre Ward should be in a subway commercial that actually makes a ton of sense. Olympic gold medalist on top of the game he might ask to much money though. That's why I mention Garcia/Russell. (not a fan of either)
and all Lee does in the commercial is just stand there and say subway eat fresh, Garcia could have done that and it would have got him some more buzz. At least he's a legit boxer.
but I didn't know his dad has connections I see now
The only problem I have with Lee appearing in the Subway commercials, is that he's been inactive for over a year. The last time he fought was in 2012....
he probably made more for those commercials than a lot of fighters make in their careers.
