It's always easy for an up and coming fighter to say that they want a certain opponent, until they get in the ring with them. Based on what I've seen in the last two fights, Garcia is a future star in the sport BUT he would get Ko'ed by the great Manny Pacquiao. For him to think he can just jump up almost 17lbs is Ludacris and unnecessary. His body says he will most likely never be a welterweight. 140lbs is where his going up will stop. Look at how stocky he already is for the weight he's at. Common sense says that he cannot go up much higher. His chin and lack of experience would get him KTFO.

Garcia has shown some shaky whiskers early in his last 2 fights realistically Gamboa's best chance is to catch him early and do enough damage to cause a stoppage or make Garcia weakened enough to build an early lead.

Gamboa is no pushover for Garcia. I favor Mikey, but that's a real fight. Yuri better realize his market value and that this is the only big money match remotely close to him right now. Don't price yourself out and show up for the presser.

Gamboa isn't skilled enough to have a chance. His superior athletics allow him to get away with a lot, but he's no prime RJJ, and Garcia has proven to be a master boxer.

Even though Gamboa is not quite the same energetic explosive monster he was back then, he still has some boxing skills that could prove difficult for Mikey to figure out. Mikey is a very solid all around fighter though BUT with a suspect chin. If Gamboa manages to come into this fight motivated and energetic, he could rock Garcia. I got it on my facebook feed and said, WTF. I didnt see this last night. Gamboa looks motivated in that interview so I'm sure he wants this. LOL @ Robert Garcia asking him if was going to duck the press conference like he did for the Rios fight. :lol1: There seems to be some rivalry here and I'm loving it I laughed too.
