I hope this thread doesn't get deleted, because this should be discussed.
And I know Broner is supposedly "black and slick", but he is as flat footed as and flat out brawler in the game.

That sh*t backfired so hard. They should've known his power wasn't gonna carry up.
We all knew he was flatfooted but there was nuthuggers like #1assassin, who's still MIA, claiming he could move. Lol

They mapped it out wrong for him. They could have maximized profits if they rematched Paulie and started calling out Cuenca.
A victory over Cuenca would've taken him straight into the HOF. That's if, he could've survived his monstrous power.

It really shouldn't be discussed. The conversation should end here: being flat-footed isn't a positive trait and thus doesn't deserve "credit". /thread.

Dude needs togo back down to 140. Get a strength and conditioning coach and take these fights a little more seriously. I think he may have underestimated Maidiana. Someone said perfectly in a previous post- he walks them down with the shoulder roll. Its a different type of shoulder roll than what Floyd is using.
Dude a near 40 weight drained half dead Morales outside his best divisions embarrassed Maidana. It aint the weight, it's the skill and Broner simply a low Level fighter that made a career beating on bums he outweigh by15-20 lbs, step up to that to a decent skill level he has issues paulie and more importantly Ponce De Leon at the lower weights showed that........
ppl keep saying broner aint a 147 fighter, well guess what neither was his opponent that beat him.
ppl forgot already when maidaina lost to alexander, everybody sayin oh look, maidana's power dont have the same affect at 147 as it did at 140 he should step back down.
in my opinion the weight class aint got nothing to with broner's lost, he just fought the wrong fight. i go as far sayin he probably beats maidana in a rematch.
How did he fight the wrong fight, when that's his style?
Even Paulie said, "One thing Broner doesn't do. He doesn't turn defense into offense." "He doesn't really counter punch."

The tactics required when rolling the shoulders are such that control of distance is paramount. One needs to understand angling the body properly, and how to keep the opponent at the right distance with footwork & feints to be succesful. Bronner was having to contort more than twist when madianna was attacking, he could not assume the correct angle and got tagged going at the longest angle (180 straight back), and showed little else to keep from getting hit.
i dont understand why he was compared to floyd in the first place. thats the main thing he lacks and floyd is superior of: ring generalship.
i think broner style isnt good for come forward WW fighters. at LW maybe.
It aint just the power, with his short reach he has to stay in the eye of the storm to land his girly shots, his style is flawed he comes forward strictly out of the roll stance, but great fighters like Floyd would switch to a conventional textbook offense or the high guard when stalking their opponent for a reason, the shoulder roll is a defensive technique first and lastly, it can get you killed when you transition to offense out of it, allowing the fighter to be frozen or handcuffed having to gaurd vs incoming shots, because when your rolling, twisting and turning it's either all D or little to none offense..........
He needs to abandon the roll completely he also leans straight back into shots and leaning back when you are rolling get you caught with shots you dont see around the guard like Maidana lead left hook.....With Broner style the winky high guard is the way to go, since he wants to walk down stalk and has no footwork, Broner only started rolling his shoulder recently when he became a HBO fighter and GB built him as a Floyd clone, most people don't know this though.......
Yeah, Broner is just flawed. And his ring IQ is severely lacking. He started throwing the body jab in the 1st, and it was working, but then completely abandoned it, for fear of counter rights.
If he knew how to use his feet, he'd have body jabbed all night, and quickly angled backwards like Floyd does. The problem is, Broner's not trained in that style. He's trained in blitzing, and out slicking you on the inside.
Too bad, he has no power at 147 for that style.
It is what it is man.
Why did he skip 140 in YOUR opinion Dunn?

I guess the answer is no-you didn't label it skipping the division when other fighters did the same thing. Its cool if you don't like Broner but to label the same thing differently when its different fighters is problematic.
He didn't skip 140 no more than Manny, Ghost or any other fighter who went from 135 to 147 did.
Who ever said he was a slick fighter? It was always known he was flatfooted. Even the Mayweather's and Floyd himself talked about how flatfooted he was. He was never known as a slick fighter. He is a very stationary fighter.

Why do you call him going to 147 as skipping 140 because it was red hot?
when other fighters have don this have you labeled it the same thing?

he's flat footed and he can't counter to save his life.
garcia doesn't have good footwork too but he's a good counterpuncher. broner just tries to be flashy but he doesn't really have good reflexes. He's like berto, he freezes under pressure and just try to roll with his shoulder but ineffective.

i think he can use his feet more if he worked on it a little bit. i dunno but i think he would do a lot better in a rematch.
oh, so he's going to pick up the necessary footwork after going an entire career without it.
ok

Just thinking: GBP knows too much about boxing... They likely imagined this was a risky fight for Broner. So...
You would think so.

The problem is, since he doesn't have the power at 147 to use that style, he at least needs the slickness to win, using that style.
It's the way he portrays that style, why people dog him. He tries to LOOK slick, using that style, but it backfires.
