I'm neither a Pac or Floyd stan, but the reason i dont look forwards to Pacman fights anymore and the reason why his allure has gone is simply because he is fighting the same people over and over again and bums like Rios
The competition Pac faces is not believable
Floyd at least gets in the ring with different foes, Canelo, Ghost, Ortiz...possibly now Maidana, Khan, soon to be followed by Garcia
The fights we want to see Pac in will never happen, and i'm not just talking about the Floyd fight, i'm talking about Pac vs Maidana, Pac vs Lucas, Garcia, Ortiz, Ghost, Khan, list goes on....
Pac would really be a dumb fool to resign with Arum come the end of 2014, and will not only let down his delusional stans but boxing as well
Floyd will continue to be the most popular boxer on the planet
What type of homo ertic relationship does Pac have with Arum, its like he's Liberaces toy boy.

Whatever. The only novelty is that this boxer wasted his money on politics, and not coke, hookers, bling bling or betting. Rigo bought himself a Bentley or something, and HBO doesn't wanna pay his purse anymore.
He could have spent his money on worse things, but did his monetary expenditure mean he's going to get something done in politics? Do you even know what his platform is, or his awareness of his countries issues? So if the money one spend means they're not getting back what they ultimately invest then something is really amiss. So if Filipinos vote for Manny on the basis of his fame and not on his understanding of their day to day needs, well, I think that may be a problem and much more wasteful than Rigo buying a Bentley.
Rigondeaux is too beautiful for HBO, he schools their dumb top fighters like Donaire....
Bush wasn't a smart guy but he kept smart people around him who like out for his best interest and he was awfully rich before being President. Who in Manny camp genuielly care about his best interest besides his wife.
Manny have plenty of leeches in his camp. I think Buboy and roach are the only real friends in Team Pacquiao.

Your Bush point kinda nullified my "not bright enough to be president" rationale, good point. However I get this sense we're at the beginning of learning how poorly Pac managed his career and it could be scandalous. It isn't a crime to go broke or get KO'd, the problem as I see it is when fans act like these occurrences have no meaning.

Marcos was a much better politician than Manny, but he became a corrupt leader in the 2nd half of his reign. Marcos from 1966 to 1972 was the best Filipino President. Just look at his accomplishments ( Google it).
Yeah I don't doubt he was smarter, he didn't get into politics as a boxing celeb. The point is he stole more money than Arum + GBP + Don King can dream of.
should manny convert to buddhism?
No, Manny should pray for the rapture, he needs outta this world quick before Arum completes his mission, before its too late. All buddhism would do is complicate Manny's economics....

Google Marcos family for example. But it's no different elsewhere, even in Kazakhstan this local chieftain can buy the WBA Super LHW belt. If anything, 3rd world offers more opportunities for ill gotten wealth. Yeah no doubt he's not cut out for president, but I don't care much, being a boxing fan and not Fil citizen or political observer. Bush wasn't bright either, hopefully Pac gets advisers better than Koncz.

Dunno about this, the Philippines is not a rich country and I've never heard of politics being lucrative over there. Manny's made a sh1t ton of money over the years, that's a natural fact but what's also factual is that because he chose to venture out to activities that had nothing to do with boxing (politics) he was intentionally minimizing his profit. His politics won't earn him a fraction of what he makes in a single fight. His politics earn him national appeal and approval but nothing more. Manny doesn't strike me as a dedicated politician at the end of the day, he strikes me as a guy that does what's expected and nothing more. So I think he'd make a terrible president of a country. If you can't manage the day to day operations of your own career, why are people supposed to trust you with the economic welfare of a country?
If in Manny's current situation he can make a lot of money, but fails to capitalize on his opportunities why should he be entrusted with the fate of a nation?

To score more than 475k buys he should have avoided JMM's right, and not fought in Macau for tax reasons. He's made a ton of money under Arum, even if he never maximized his earning potential. If you fritter away 50m, say, you'd probably do no better with 70m.
Yeah, I agree with this it's the size of the glut that ultimately matters and not how much you feed it, because it can always eat. My point is, its really interesting watching Mayweather oversee amazing continued success, as opposed to a broke and battered Pacquiao.
But notice that having a promoter is the norm, with Arum being top ranked for a while. Only 2 guys have gone off on their own successfully, and both had promoter aspirations. Well, one of them is more of a wannabe, but he's got a good deal for himself. Pac has no time for wannabe promoting, he's got his politics crap. That can be very lucrative, even over there. Or can ruin you if you're dumb, Pac would have nobody else to blame. But probably beats Philty Rich records or lottery soda long term.

Here I thought we were going to have a real discussion, but it was just another group of floyd stans making a thread and posting nonsense.
These floyd fans are so delusional and brainwashed that it's unbelievable. :frown:
They're justifying Floyd's Arum excuse. For four years it was
ped testing. They can't accept the issue has always been
about Floyd's lack of balls. Worst fanbase in the sport's history
Poor dope, you just don't get it. But that's okay you're in good company. My point is, your boy Pac is a mindless automaton that answers to the ruthless and efficient dictates of Bob Arum. Sure PAc's a "gentleman," but what good is that, seriously? A gentleman sells less than 475,000 PPV's, imagine if he showed a bit more spine?

Uh ok Plato. I dunno why you feel so proud of that obvious point, way overworked by you. Boxers are often not good with money. Pac is not an asset manager, nor a rocket scientist. That's not what I look for in boxers, not sure about you Plato. He's no saint either. What he is is the runaway winner in NSB biggest gentleman in boxing poll. Plato says that's a good thing

If Pacquiao gets past Bradley, they should be willing to settle for $35 million for a Mayweather fight because that's the best they're ever going to get again. I'm not sure if they take it though because I dont think Arum has that much humility in him.
Not necessarily, his negotiating position couldn't be weaker now, with Floyd coming off Canelo and him off Rios. Floyd doesn't have good options, and if Pac could get JMM interested in 5 via WBO belt, his position would be much stronger, if he won clean of course.
But if Floyd was only willing to do 40m fixed before JMM 4, its a moot poit. Floyd will keep dropping the offer till unacceptable
Does the truth really hurt this bad? Here: http://www.nationalcounselinggroup.com/mentalhealth.html
