Just watched this FightHype Interview:
Here are some highlights:
See, people fail to realize, this is a business. It's not about working harder. You know, my next fight, I'll be 37 years old. It's not about working harder; it's about working smarter...I'm not scared of nobody. I'm not scared of no opponent at all...when I faced Diego Corrales, he was undefeated. When I faced Ricky Hatton, he was undefeated. When I faced Canelo Alvarez, he was undefeated...there's certain opponents that I'm looking for
Its getting tougher and tougher to defend this guy. lol
I hate the idea of the Khan fight so much and like many others, I would much rather see him fight Danny Garcia but for some reason Danny doesn't want his payday. So it's whatever.
I wish he would stop ducking Pacquiao though.
Brotha Floyd is gon beat anyone they put in front of him! Stop bringing Pac up he gon' lose!
Then why he's ducking Manny Pacquiao? lol! you just can't accept that your homie Floyd Mayweather can't beat Manny Pacquiao.
God why does Floyd always set himself up like that.
We can now add another one to his list of doding the pacquiao fight
-Its not about working harder, its about working smarter
going against his hard work, dedication lingo lmao
add em up! to
-its all about hit and dont be hit
-self-preservation
-yes, you're next..i never said that
lol this guy is a walking contradiction!!
Let's look at their last 3 fights.
Canelo vs Rios - Canelo is the better fight and every one can agree with that.
Guerrero vs Marquez - Marquez is considerably better and we can all agree with that.
Cotto vs Bradley - We can all agree that the difficulty these two fighters bring are pretty identical.
So the selection of opponent between Mayweather and Pacquiao are right there, 50-50.Yet only Floyd gets bashed for his selection, despite it actually being very good.
Not just that but Mayweather's last 4 opponents will all be fresh names, while you can guarantee Pacquiao is going to rematch both Bradley and Marquez.
God why does Floyd always set himself up like that.

Actually, everyone on this site was criticizing Berto's weak resume.
Actually, every one on this site was criticizing Pacquao for picking Mosley instead of Berto when Arum gave him the options.
Of course, "boxing is a business" like Floyd says and your kind follows it up by criticizing hm for it. Pacquiao picked Mosley because he brought the most money, but was also the weakest pick of all three options(Marquez, Berto, Mosley). Although you criticize Floyd for saying Boxing is a business, guess what, your favorite fighter does the same thing, but doesn't say it. They say "I'm here to fight the best", but Mosley and Margarito were no where near the best, they were just the best money fights for Pacquiao.
Mayweather fights for money and admits he does. Pacquiao fights for money and tells you guys what you want to hear, that he's "fighting the best". And you fall for it and bash Fighter A (Mayweather) and praise Fighter B who does the same thing but does not talk about it.
Is there a bigger money fight on the Golden Boy roster at 147 than Khan at this moment?
The #1 PPV guy combined with being the P4P #1 guy can pretty much get any fight he wants if he truly wanted it. For example if Floyd personally wanted to fight Bradley, he could make the fight happen due to the power he holds. But whatever he would have to concede in terms of possibly a slightly lesser cut or working with people he doesn't want to is more important to him, so the fights dont happen.
I personally feel he should have fought Martínez, winnable fight at the current form Martínez is at (Have no doubt Floyd would win), and would get huge praise for it.
But hey he rather bullshit people, with a Khan fight.
:pat::rofl::rofl::rofl:
from "Hard Work, Dedication"
to "Work Smarter, not Harder"
... Pac raped him mentally. LOL at giving up the belt coz Pac is his mandatory fight. Floyd basically got KTFO before the opening bell.
A warrior and a true champion... floyd is none of that.
Floboners in 3...2...1......
No actually at the time Berto was ranked higher than Clottey. Margarito wasn't even in the top 10 anywhere.
No matter what Berto turned out to be, the principle of the subject was that Arum, at the time, didn't want anything to do with a young undefeated fighter vs Pacquiao. Ortiz was #3 ranked WW, behind Mayweather and Pacquiao, because he had beaten an undefeated Berto. So both Ortiz and Berto were actually better than Clottey, let alone Margarito.
Pacquiao at WW is his 7th weight class, yet he actually was bigger than Floyd at 130-135, and at 140-147 he is the same exact size as Floyd on fght night(149-151lbs). Yet Floyd fought twice at 154 and once at 152 against #3 ranked DLH, #1 ranked Cotto, and Ring champ Canelo. Pacquiao fought a non-top 10 ranked Margarito at 150lbs for a vacant title.
Floyd is held to much higher standard because he is much better than Pacquiao. Not bigger, not because he's draining himself to make 147, he is the same exact size as Pacquiao and always has been. When Floyd was weighing in at 147-148lbs on fight night in his WW fights, Pacquiao was weighing in at 146lbs on fight night in his SFW fights. They are the same size, Pac could fight at 154 like Mayweather but chooses not to because he is not as good. When Pac was fighting at 106, Floyd was also at 106 in the Golden Gloves.
Stop with the size BS.

Part of why it's so easy to hate on Floyd is that he is constantly giving us haters easy ammunition.
Floyd even says "If my team cherry picked so and so and people came and watch, great"

so Ortiz was better than clottey based on one win over overrated berto? clottey beat Judah, beat cotto on my card, and drew with margarito. hmmm yea I wonder who is more proven.....the guy who fought and proved he was an elite fighter regardless of official decisions or the guy who beat an unproven guy. oh the golden boy rankings say Ortiz was better it must be true! also clottey is an innovator of boxing. you see guys like zab Judah, Brandon rios, and joseph agbeko copying his style of fighting. no one copies Ortiz.
Marg, Clottey, Cotto >>> Ortiz, Berto. Remember welter is Pac's 7th division. Floyd can't even unify at the regulation weight in his 5th, too small.
