We should respect him for doing gay acts in the ring? Or trying to get Maidana disqualified by acting? Or Not doing the post fight interview?
Whoever saids he deserves respect is delusional and not he goes in the exposed pool along with Matthysse.
No, but. He took a terrible beating all night long to the head and body. In the 11th and 12th rounds, he really tried to pull it out. The fact that he made it to that point and still had a will to win, erases the BS he pulled. He showed a lot of heart and courage late in that fight. Not many would have even made it to that point of the fight with the punches Maidana was landing.
I will freely give credit where it is due, and Broner earned some respect back with that late effort alone.
Its his job, anything short of that he has no business being a prizefighter because it is why hes being paid for.

I disagree with this type of thinking. And it's nothing against you but more against that type of mentality.
Let me put it this way, should every president be respected just because they are presidents. Should every basketball player be respected just because they are basketball players? Or should we take in consideration what they are doing with their position in order to give them our respect?
I believe a person earns his respect with his actions, not with his position. Regardless of the field he is in.
That was deep bro:beerchug:
you reap what you sow?
Broner was talking made crap about Ponce,Eloy,Madina,Malignaggi and did Vicente Escobedo wrong by not making weight. the trash talk was for real this is why everyone is taking a big fat turd on his face .HE MENT EVRYTHING HE SAID
In my opinion Broner desserves to be criticized not credited for his performance on Saturday night. What Broner did was a disgrace to our great sport of boxing because a true warrior doesn't display the antics used by Broner before, during, and after the fight. A respectable fighter doesn't elbow, clinch, tie his opponents arms, push, shove, flop, and hump his way through 12 rounds. A respectable person doesn't act like a clown when everything goes their way and then hide like a coward when something doesn't.
Perfectly said, all the humping crap was a disgrace.

Well said. Drop the truth on these guys.

Broner showed more heart than i thought he had but he also showed that he was looking for a way out.
I respect anyone who gets in the ring as a fighter but it doesnt mean i have to respect them as a person.
He is an absolute turd of a human being in a lot of aspects. Some of it is old and im not wanting to discuss it, some of it is new. He isnt a role model for anyone.
He believed his own hype and disrespected boxing with the Escebode incident and tweeting pics of snacks he was eating etc... There is worse than that but im not one for doing charachter assasinations online..
He is just a flat out spoiled arrogant child who thought he was the 2nd coming an took maidana lightly
Please don't put Broner together with Matthysse. Matthysse is a damn good fighter who would have a good shot at beating Garcia in a rematch. He is also a respectful person and a class act. Broner is the biggest A hole in boxing and he would not do any better in a fight with Matthysse than he did with Maidana.
Broner is a good fighter as well, I can’t deny that, but both guys were exposed, thats where the comparison comes in. And I still love to jab at the Matthysse fans any chance I get, whether its played out or not.
Do you guys remember how bad they were for the past year and a half?

Very well said bro!

Bit unfair to put Matthysse in the same bracket as Broner, he didn't feign injury, complain to the referee incessantly or take cheapshots.
I like both fighters but Broner behaved poorly, he needs to grow up.
They aren’t in the same bracket at all except the hype bracket. Both guys were crowned as something before they actually proved themselves and got exposed. Matthysse is definitely respectable and has class, Broner on the other hand…..
he fought his heart out. his ring iq is off the chart. i despise him for acting coz it was the left hook after the butt that hurt him, not the butt itself.
but he still continue fighting and still try to win, what else does we want on a fighter? he even hit marcos after the bell. that is dirty and can warrant a DQ but it would be better than an L. he got away with it and he had an advantage entering the 12. he knows every trick just to get that W, it's just marcos' will that night can't be denied..
Huh? You just wrote a paragraph of despicable action and you say you respect him for them. That makes no sense. And if he had any ring IQ he would have used his Jab and his feet more than his ability to bend the rules and get away with them.
Any and every Prize fighter should be respected. You look pathetic writing him and Matthysse off for losing.

Having a lot of heart is faking an injury to get your opponent DQ’d? I never knew.

I find it funny how people try to act like he has so much heart when he was clearly looking for a way out.
on top of that bs in the second round and all the elbowing/forearms

He fought hard for twelve rounds, maybe even with a broken jaw. He got hurt and dropped a couple of times, and he was still fighting toe to toe. He even pressed forward against Maidana and hurt Maidana a couple of times. Broner knew he needed a knockout out, admitted it in the corner, and was looking for it in the last 2-3 rounds. He didn't quit, fought with heart, and fought with a broken jaw.
He gets my respect, he gets Maidana's respect, he gets Robert Garcia's respect, he gets many prize fighter's respect. But, he doesn't get your respect. If you understood what conditions he was fighting under, then you would respect him.
Fighting hard for 12 rounds is what he getting paid millions to do. And he tried not fight hard for 12 rounds when he faked an injury.
