Two of Manny Pacquiao's former sparring partner have become world champions this year. Shawn Porter with his rough all action non stop style taking Alexander's title and Ruslan Provodnikov, hard hitting willing to die determination who brutally busted up Alvarado for the title at light-welter as well as giving Bradley a severe beating and unlucky not to have won that bout as well.
They have proven their worth as prize fighters in their own right and shows what tough training camps Pacquiao and how Manny always wants to fight the best even if it is just sparring.
I would state that these two champions are better fighters than Mayweather's recent opponents, namely Victor Ortiz and Robert Guerrero, and would back either man to take out Floyd's former foes.
I would also suggest that both men learned a lot from their camp's with Pacquiao to make themselves world champions.
It really shows what a cherry picker Floyd is when Pacquiao faces better opponents in sparring than Floyd does for his PPV borefests.
Poll Coming!!!:boxing:
Its the worst kept secret in the world and widely known that Floyd doesn't fight p4p fighters.
Pac fought JMM, Bradley and then JMM again. Floyd fights Ortiz, Guerrero, and Canelo.....guys who aren't even top 20 p4p and that's being generous.
Floyd supposedly fought p4p SSM, who we know wasn't a p4p fighter.
... Ortiz and Guerrero have fought better fighters than Prov and Porter. I'd like Ortiz and Guerrero over Porter. Prov over Ortiz in a war and Guerrero over Prov in a close fight where Guerrero's gas tank prevails (imo though, really like Prov). Guerrero only lost to Floyd aka best fighter on the planet. Stop acting like Porter and Prov just beat on Wladimir and Ward. Alvarado is mid tier and Alexander is far from a top 5 welter. Guerrero and Ortiz both beat on Alexander IMO.
pbf's sparring partners were a prime sweet pea and frankie randell.......ts is a clown.
No, Floyd was a sparing partner for them, and a little light spar is a big difference from being main sparring partner in a camp.
Were not talking about a little light spar, Porter and Provodnikov were Pacquiao's main sparring partners and they did some hard hard sparring.
And I have sparred before and fought.
Have you ever boxed a day in your life? Sparring is just that f*cking sparring. Who gives two f*cks about who anyone sparred. They are never going 100% and are only in there to work on certain things for upcoming fights. God damn keyboard warriors that never stepped in to the ring a day in their life need to take a backseat on certain subjects. I'm sure you have followed boxing enough to know this already so what is your point in this thread? Can we get some kind of way to moderate stupid topics like this that have no point?
I was just going to ask the same question. Sparring is sparring. You don't go all out and you don't over extended yourself. Plus if anything is not going right you can call for a pause. On top of that lets not forget the extra protection gear
Still not answering the question

Floyd sparred with Sweet Pea when he was young...why does it matter? They have probably both sparred with elite fighters much bigger than themselves. Why do we have these ridiculous Floyd hate topics even see the light of day?
 You think Guerrero and Ortiz are better:rofl:
Porter just beat Devon-someone you didn't think highly of. Ruslan lost to Tim and beat Mike Alvarado-a 2nd tier JWW. You haven't seen Porter and Ruslan fight more than 3 or 4 times combined at best. You have no real idea who either ruslan or porter has fought other than this year. Yet you are saying they are better than Ghost/Ortiz. Other than sparring with manny what is the basis for this statement?
Manny has sparred with with 2 good and tough fighters. His fights with Clottey, Diaz, and Rios were sparring sessions that actually counted as real wins. So its a wash.
Obviously, a big earner like Manny can afford to hire top notch pros to spar. Thats smart. Hopefuly manny will fight either Porter or Ruslan next in a real fight rather than sparring.

Porter and Providnikov were largely unknown when sparring with Pacquiao, and now they are champs.
U do realize Floyd has sparred with champion level boxers as well tho rite?
