I'm looking for any fights where a fighter sat back and tried to box or counter Floyd Mayweather Jr., so that he was forced to go on the offensive and initiate the fight.
The main reason is that I know Floyd is a great defensive fighter, but I'd like to show friends some highlights of his offensive ability and ability to engage as well.
Let me know if there's any for me to look up or post 'em here. I appreciate it :boxing:
He was the aggressor for most of the Mosley fight. He stood his ground in the fights with Corrales KO10 and Gatti KO6. He was the aggressor in his fight with Genaro Hernandez KO8, Burton KO9, Ndou KO7, Manfredy KO2, Shamba Mitchell KO6 and many other fights. He has a great offense to go with his great defense. He makes them miss and then he makes them pay.
His last too fight against Canelo and Guerrero he had no problem being aggressive but also still being slick and smart at the same time
He Did Not "RUN" from neither, in fact when Mayweather stayed in the pocket and right and front of them at times they both froze up and really did not know what to do. Both Also backed up and it was Mayweather come forward at times again both when come in most said Mayweather would be the one "RUNNING"
If you want to him be Aggressive and WRECKLESS and just eat punches while coming forward...THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!

You don't have to go back far. Both Guerrero and Canelo started out trying to counter Floyd, but with little success. They didn't have the skills to force him to lead for long.
Floyd is a boxer type of course, but he is not as lost on the inside as say, Lara or Trout. He also has very good physical strength and stamina, though not a ton of power.
Floyd will never get ko'ed out like Pac as no one puts any pressure on Floyd to ko people. Floyd fans say ko'ing people isn't what Floyd is about and he gets excused for his lack of ability of ko'ing people like some charity case.
Floyd can be offensive sometimes when he wants to be and on the surface might be successful. Probably his opponents are shocked that Floyd is initiating attacks.
But because Floyd is offensive so little it puts the probability in his favour he wont get ko'ed. Pac doesn't knock someone out in a few fights then that is the talk of the town.
