That actually has a ring to it! LOL
It took some doing on Bellew's part for me to actually root for Adonis. (forget his past everyone has one, but it is something about this kid I just don't like)
I never saw Bellew before this fight but that saucer eyed fool put on a show pre fight with his hard words and weigh in antics, and during the fight he didn't (Fight that is)
And finally when he did decide to open up in the 4th and seconds later he decided that was not a good ideal.
Adonis knocked Bellew into another division.
Now only if Adonis signs to fight Kovalev, the Russian can rid me of my other unfounded annoyance by sparking Adonis so I don't have to see his face on HBO anymore.
Your thoughts?
No problem mate :ANYWORD:
I agree with a lot of your points. Bellew does often talk a better fight than he delivers.
And his weigh-in's ect can be a bit much at times. I think he's a kind of love him or hate him guy haha.
Bellew as always seemed to me as a fighter who needs to 'hate' his opponent. Maybe it helps him get in the zone.
He puts his game face on as soon as a fight is announced, but reverts back to normal after the fight is over, be it in victory or defeat.
Good point, some fighters have to get ready to fight in the manner that suits him best.
I was searching for some of his commentary so I could balance out my perception of the man but all I found was more damming footage.
But of course U.K. boxing fans have a better handle on the man than I would, and I thank you for the added knowledge.
Paulie Malignaggi is a commentator on Showtime and he's not exactly a shrinking violet in his pre-fights.
Bellew was goaded a lot by Cleverly. They just didn't like each other.
True, Paul is not exactly shy either.
But Paul is IMO a little less abrasive.

I just youtube'ed (is that a word? LOL) Bellew, it seems he has a history of being a pre fight twat.
He did something similar with Nathan Cleverly and that was as much as I needed to know.
Given his history I find it amazing that he would be given a chance to be a pundit in the U.K.

I know about Adonis past but when I see him in the ring I become a fan. It's hard not to think about his past especially since it always comes up
What's up Dos?
And for me I don't even think about his past.
I am a criminal defense Attorney, so I am far from the moral police and I have heard and seen good people do terrible things.
It is something irrational on my part I am the first to admit, but something about Adonis rubs me the wrong way.
EDIT: And it is not his shade of skin that rubs me wrong (I am half Black and half Mexican baby!)
Wow he is a boxing pundit in the U.K.?
That is true some people do change character coming into a fight, that I have no problem with.
My problem is fighters writing checks that there ass can't cash, if your going to talk a good fight at least go out there and try to back it up.
I agree, Bellew went into the fight fired up and I thought he'd have more about him then he showed but I think Stevenson's power caught him early and he didn't want to taste it any longer.
He showed he could box well in spurts but just refused to let his hands go and when he did he actually made Stevenson pay for the mistakes he makes but it just wasn't enough. I think Bellew could have made a very different fight if he was more active and not so scared of the power.
Ahh well, at least it sets up Kov v Stev
he never raped little kids, im not making any excuses for what he really did do but just because he did some horrible things doesnt mean you can lie about him doing other even more horrible things.
as for TS i thought bellew fought a great fight. just because he has enough brains to use a little strategy instead of going in there and bang with a massive puncher doest mean he didnt come to fight.
he had the right idea, make stevenson miss, frustrate him and either catch him with a big shot early or make him tired and then turn it up.
i was rooting for stevenson myself, i could never stand bellew long before the build up to this fight (which made it worse) but i was impressed with him on fight night. obviously he isnt good enough to beat someone like stevenson but he put up as much resistance as he could.
Ok, as I stated in the OP that was my first time seeing Bellew fight so I was not aware of his ability's or lack of.
And I was not saying that he should of traded with Adonis but a least put a jab in his face to try to give him something to think about not fight the fight in full retreat.
you right everybody has a past but not many have a sick past of raping little kids

I don't think he did anything he said he wasn't going to do. He said that Chad Dawson didn't respect Stevenson's power and that he wasn't going to just trade with him. I think he was trying to see if Stevenson would get tired/frustrated before he upped his attack.
Bellew has a good boxing brain but he just doesn't have the talent to match it.
Ok, I can see that also but if he does have a good boxing I.Q. you would think he would know you have to throw something back if you are hoping to gas your opponent for the later rounds.
you right everybody has a past but not many have a sick past of raping little kids
Yes, Stevenson definitely committed some heinous crimes. But why do people say little kids. I thought the youngest person was 17. The crimes are already awful enough. There is no need to embellish.

Bellew actually seems like a likeable person when he's not fighting. He just gets hyped up by the occasion when he has a fight.
He is one of the better boxing pundits when he's on UK TV. Actually comes across articulate and knowledgeable. Might be a better career for him since he isn't that talented a boxer.

That is correct, I was just stating that that is not the reason for my dislike of the man.
Even if I did not know of that fact I still would not care for him, that is all.
