I don't understand how some are impressed with Manny's performance because no one really gave Rios and chance before the fight and Manny was suppose to win and win by knockout. This was Rios first fight at 147 and he didn't look that great his last 2 fights against Alvarado. He won the first fight against Alvarado but was losing on the scorecards before he stopped Alvarado and then he lost the rematch because Alvarado decided to do the smart thing and he outboxed him. This fight was designed to make Manny look good and that's it. Brandon Rios is just a smaller version of Antonio Margarito but with less skill.
It's simple......for the HATERS, anything, and I meant ANYTHING Pacquiao can do, does, did, and has done is of no significance. or _________________ (fill in any boxer's name).
or for the "nuthuggers", it's the opposite.
Ortiz and Guerrero had at least fought at 147 before and won fights against Welterweights, and were prime.
Rios is prime, but the guy wasn't even one of the best at 140, and had never fought at 147. If you're going to fight someone who hasn't done anything at 147, make it against someone like Hatton in 07', Bradley in 12', or Garcia now. Guys who were the clear best fighters at that weight.
Rios was a decent contender at 140 who lost to Alvarado his last time out.
Ortiz is 1-3-1 careerwise against top 10 comp. He didn't have a win at 147, he imposed a CW on Berto, remember? Coincidentally his only decent win ever.
Guerrero didn't really have a top 10 ww win either. Aydin certainly wasn't, and Guerrero barely made it out on his feet vs this bum. Berto was unranked coming off the PED suspension, with a new shoulder roll
the fighters you'd mentioned are the same fighters that floyd the fraud ducked during their prime. :dunno:
remember floyd the fraud went on a bullcrap retirement to duck them?
do you ever talk about anyother fighter
you spend way to much time talk about a fighter you claim you hate
Who did Shane, margarito, cotto and clottey beat to get the fight with manny?

I agree. Manny proved nothing.
He has to win two to three more fights first, then join TMT
to be able to have the honor of dancing with the Queen.
Garcia or Khan are more worthy.
I prefer Khan next.

Ortiz and Guerrero both beat Berto to get the Floyd lottery ticket. Who else?

but pac is also coming off a ko lost. so what more do u want out of him? i dont think rios is a bad fight in terms of testing manny out. rios was there to get hit, sure, but rios was also there to pressure and to hit manny back which didnt happen but that was the whole point of this fight to fight someone who will come out and test u.
Ortiz and Guerrero were no better than Rios as opponents, and I always cringe when I read 'ranked' as the way these rankings are worked out is pretty laughable.

But I do have to LOL at people giving Pac credit in general for beating Rios, a guy who was 1-1 at 140, and lost to Mike Alvarado his last time out.
Floyd fought ranked Welterweights, guys in the Top 3 at the least in Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero, and Canelo......and people refuse to give him credit, well at least some still do.

Sure he did. He proved that he's still about the same exact guy he was in 2011-2012, a very very good fighter who just got caught against Marquez, in a fight he was winning handily aside from one earlier KD.
I wish Manny was able to fight contenders like Guerrero, Alexander, and others at 147, and show against more legit opposition at the weight that he's still a damn good fighter.
He's basically the same guy he was in 2011-2012, IMO.
I didn't think Manny was a shot fighter. That being said, how can you really know if Manny has declined against someone like Rios?
Someone like Rios? Gotta love these so called 'boxing fans'. Rios is a decent fighter and deserves way more respect than he's getting from...well, floydiots basically, and they dont know very much about the sport at all.
one of the big questions was about manny's chin...whether he could still take a punch ..he took rios' punches pretty well and rios' is nowhere near a feather fisted fighter...
thats not entirely true...........pac said that rios hurt him pretty badly to the chin (i don't see how because rios didn't really land anything explosive or hard on pacs chin)
but pac claims that he was badly hurt.............
his chin and punch resistance obviously is not all there..........

it wasnt so much about how much manny has decline it was more so to see where manny is at after that ko and rios is the perfect one to test pac out.
Did you, in your words "give Floyd a breather" for beating Guerroro or did you critisize him?
Floyd had a habit of fighting once every 2 years so he don't need a breather, he also don't fight p4p fighters as much as Pac as regularly, so while Pac should be given a breather, Floyd needs more work in his in tray.
Give Pac a breather for Goshs sake. Pac fought JMM, Bradley and JMM back to back. Hes just been ko'ed as well. Rios for a comeback is a tough fight and Pac beat Rios better than anyone ever has or likely will.
So what did Floyd prove by beating Guerrero? Floyd was favourite wasn't he, and Guerrero wasn't the best fighter Floyds ever fought.
