I understand the whole thing that I WILL come down in weight, but if you feel that you are dealing with a guy who's scared or timid, you make your prescense felt.
And GGG dominating 160 is not making his prescense felt, if he or Martinez dropped to 154 for a upcoming fight, they would EASILY be ranked #2 after Floyd and probably be made Floyds Mandatory.
Just a thought, that way there would be no excuse for Floyd not to fight them, but as of right now it's like asking Pernelll Whitaker to fight 1993 version of Roy Jones when he was a 160 fighter, crazy.
floyd is done at 54 anyway and man come on guys...floyd walks around at 150....tf is gonna fight ggg or any threat at 54...heck even canelo was at 52...
Floyd doesn't walk around at 150 he walks around at 160-162 tops! Straigh from his mouth.
Floyd does not give a damn if there is no excuse or not. He does what he wants and fights who he wants and mandatories mean nothing to him.He did not want to fight Canelo at 154 so he fought him at 152. He sure will not fight GGG who is more dangerous than Canelo at 154. The WBC is making Floyd choose what title he wants to keep. 154 or 147. He will almost certainly choose 147.There is nothing GGG can do to make Floyd or Martinez fight him at any weight. He is just too good and too scary. All he can do is keep knocking out the fighters that will fight him and hope he will become such a money maker that better fighters will risk fighting him.
So instead of worrying about WW's being too scared of him, why not fight either the winner of Froch-Groves or Ward-Rodriguez at 168? Or a test the waters fight with some one who he'd supposedly KO/beat according to about 35 posters here, Mikkel Kessler?
Golovkin's managers and fans need to stop worrying about an injured fighter who is looking to cash out (and lost to Murray anyway) and a Welterweight who has weighed at highest 150lbs on the scales of his 154 fights, and 151lbs being the heaviest he's ever been on fight night in his career as far as unofficial weigh ins go.
On top of that, Froch, Ward, Kessler are all good money fights.
If Golovkin and Martinez could campaign at 154, they would. That is where the money and better fighters are. Look at the fighters there Mayweather, Canelo, Cotto, Lara, Trout, Angulo...all fun fights, and all fights that would get GG more money than fighting Stevens, Ishida or any other top 6-10 contender at MW. Here is the problem...
They can't make 154 unless it's for one of the big 3 money men in that division, Maywether, Canelo, Cotto. And at this point with Martinez having the ego he has, I doubt he'd go down to 154 to fight any one other than Mayweather. He'd tell Canelo and Cotto to meet him half way.
Golovkin still having a largely unproven pro resume, would have to do more budging than Martinez, he'd actually have to go down to 154 for Cotto and Canelo, and I will go as far to say he'd most likely have to drain himself down to 152 to get Floyd.
Floyd will avoid GGG like a plague as he is the biggest threat of his career. The size advantage alone would be key not to mention he can cut off the ring where Canelo can't, and the power is on a whole different level compared to what Floyd has seen.
Martinez too old to be waiting on Floyd and dropping his lineal title. Dude already is fighting bigger dudes than he..you think hed cut weight to fight...someone like K9 or some bull crap op lol.
He should have chased a Molina fight!

GGG should never ever fight at 154, neither should Martinez. They should be going north of the borders, not running south to fight little guys. I do agree with the op however, if they are willing to fight a tune-up at 154 to show they can safely make the weight, then why not?
I don't think Martinez is big enough to fight above 160. Di Bella suggested a Froch fight was do-able at a catchweight but most of the other 168 fighters are too big.

if he wants the p4p champ, sure. its a risk but its what he would have to do, as it should be.
they already tried that ...but the 154 p4p champ is so pussified even with them guys dropping down

So to become a "P4P champ", he should give up his title, go to a lower weight and fight lesser competition, in hopes to "force" floyd to fight him by becoming a mando, something which floyd hasnt been forced to do in like a decade?
Yea the middleweight champ is gonna drop the lineal MW title to "camp out" at 154 :lol1:

That's what you have to do if your serious enough. That's the way Matthysse did it. If you want a guy bad enough you beat enough guys at that weight until the guy your chasing can't duck you anymore.

Why don't GGG and Martinez camp out at 154? | BoxingScene Community
