Morales was way past his prime, Judah past his prime who never lived up to his potential considering his talent, and Lucas Matthysse couldn't even knock out Judah. He got a good win against Lamont Peterson a decent fighter and all of a sudden he gets over-praised. Floyd is elite, Garcia is not even close...
In all honesty, who really is considered being elite that is worthy of fighting Floyd??? Garcia isn't elite, but he beat the number 1 guy in his division in Matthysse and TKO'd Khan who was one of the best at 140 as well. He deserves a shot at Floyd. Another would be Timothy Bradley. Tim beat the number 2 and 3 guys at 147 in Pacquiao and Marquez, controversy or not. At 140, he beat the number 1 guy who was Alexander. He deserves the shot at Floyd hands down. The winner of Trout and Lara also deserves a shot. All of these guys are legit threats to Floyd and there is no guarantee that Floyd wins. A rematch with Cotto would be interesting as well.
I personally don't want to see Floyd fight anymore "hype jobs". Ortiz, Guerrero, and Alverez truly didn't have any business in the ring with Floyd besides the fact they were marketable. The most exciting and interesting thing Floyd could do is enter a tounament at 147 to unify the division. Alexander is IBF champ, Broner is WBA champ, and Bradley is WBO champ. It would be great and those guys are young, skilled, and athletic enough to give Floyd all he can handle. Winning a tournament of that magnitude would truly put him in the top 5 p4p of all time and top 3 welterweights of all time.A welterweight tournament between all four title holders would be great. Because of the combined network and promoter feuds it seems almost impossible to happen.
He beat a damn good fighter in Matthysse. In case you forgot Mayweather failed to KO Judah or even knock him down like Garcia did.Garcia also KOed Khan and Khan is probably who Mayweather will fight next. Certainly Garcia deserves to fight Mayweather ahead of the guy he KOed in 4 rounds. Garcia may not take the fight in May even if it is offered to him because his father thinks Danny needs more time to be ready for Mayweather at 147 pounds.

Agree re. Ortiz and Guerrero but having beaten Trout I think Alvarez had a decent claim to the bout.

That hypothetical tournament would be all about who is not there - Manny Pacquiao.
Beyond that, the only good win for FMJ would be Tim Bradley.
Devon has beaten virtually no one at 147, ditto Broner.

lol Floyd and Garcia couldn't knock out Judah either.
Khan is another fighter that has failed so far to live up to his potential. Floyd fights past their prime opponents like mosley and cotto and also guys who are small and coming up in weigh like hatton and Marquez. He also fought Canelo who never fought anybody but Trout, floyd didn't want to fight at 154 he had to fight at catch-weight not saying it would have made a difference but come on look at who he was fighting.
Has done more than Canelo has and Canelo got a shot
Canelo didn't fight anybody either, floyd handpicks his fighters, its' a shame because floyd really has legit talent and skills and he has played it safe as of late and been building up his handpicked opponents.
Floyd fought past his prime mosley, oscar, cotto, and fought with a small man in Marquez who was moving up in weigh, and mayweather couldn't even honor the agreed upon weigh against a smaller man. Another small man he fought was Hatton, Hatton struggled against Collazzo and Juan Urango that fight was a joke...all Floyd's big ppv money fights have been against handpicked opponents.
He chose to fight Baldomir instead of fighting Margarito, he never fought Paul Williams, nor a prime cotto, and he didn't fight Pacquiao, and still hasn't showed to want to fight now that pacquiao loss to Marquez.
