Every time somebody questions the quality of opposition, fans say haters. I like GGG alot but I still say he is relatively untested. In time that won't be the case but most fans jump on a fighter's band wagon long before it happens.
and that about sums it up.

He seems like the nicest guy in boxing and has insane power. What is there not to like about him?
WTF you talking about homie?!?...Triple G get more blow jobs and ball rubs on here than ALOT of fighters!!...don't let a few bad boys misconstrue reality for you...Triple G gets polished off by a large number of good boys!! :lol1:
All fighters get some hate. Comes with the territory, but for those who do hate on him is probably because they know he'd beat anyone from 154-168 outside of floyd. I'd pick him to ko ward. Ggg is a beast.

It is simple, because he is hyped. You find any hyped fighter in these boards, and you will find a band of haters who will look for anything to say to knock them down a few pegs.
It is funny because many state his resume as the reason. They are lies. Many still try to knock down Floyd's and Manny's resumes daily in here.
I like Golovkin and will still like him if he loses. He has an amazing, technically agressive style. I dont care if he wins or loses. All I know is I will tune in every time he fights. Same goes with Stevens, how can anyone not like his style of fighting? He goes in there trying to take a guys head off.
I am looking forward to the fight this weekend. I expect Stevens to crumble, but with the snap to his punches, anything can happen.
Because they don't want to admit he's an elite talent.
This. How can educated fans only judge a fighter by his record instead of watching him in the ring and seeing if his skills are legit or not.
Is this hating? The reason for this is because, Ward is right there, only 1 division up, yet he's calling out a smaller guy and not Ward. And yeah its mostly to piss off his obnoxious fans. Same as it was with Matthysse, people be disrespecting Champions with guys who havent proven anything besides fighting weak competition. I think Gary Russell Jr will be a terror to those guys around his division, but I dont act like Matthysse/GGG fans. Because I recognize they both are fighting the same level of comp. So most times its not the fighter per se, but just to piss off his fans. I personally think GGG will get handled like Bhop did Pavlik, by Ward (just an opinion based on Wards style, but that gets you hate). I believe alot of the hate stems from those fans that hate BOXERS and those that like BRAWLERS, that and nationality (which is cool, mexicans root for mexicans, brits root for brits, americans root for anyone not black. lol). Just lighten up this is not curing cancer, its just for fun and entertainment.:boxing:

So there is absolutely no way a fanbase can be so annoying and ridiculous that they turn you off of a fighter, that's just unfathomable and everyone's secretly being a racist. Cool theory.
only if you're weak-minded.
something is wrong with you if you can't handle a useless internet banter. you're even weaker than those people you consider as annoying. you got annoyed you lose as simple as that.

People are divided on Boxer/Brawler. And nothing wrong with countrymen favorites but it becomes a mental disorder when someone only roots for guys that fit their color or nationality to the point of hating, insulting, and always picking against other fighters and arguing to death over a point when the point is, they are biased! I root the most for humble fighters and fighters that show respect as well as high level skills. I especially root for underdogs. Nothing pleases me more than seeing some unbeaten arrogant prick with a 16-0, 23-0, whatever record who is put in with a setup and the setup backfires. That will give anyone a woody. I also root for guys with a great back story or guys who were hyped and then lost because now they have paid their dues, gotten a lot of hate, and have the chance to rise again. But the line about "not black" doesn't fit. You meant "anyone who roots for" instead of "American's who root for".
I haven't seen anybody hating on GGG as per se. I've seen a lot of people downplaying the hype based on his resume. and that's fair enough. He hasn't beaten the greatest fighters yet. But I think he will.
He looks like he's the beast that'll take over the MW division.
That's considered hating around here. Most of this "hate" is based on you not viewing the same opinion...Though I did call him a douchebag for fighting random people as a child his brothers picked out. I still don't get how people hold that up as a good thing about his past...
The reason why almost no one agrees with everyone all the time here is:
A) they don't like fighters who are over hyped
B) they done like fighters who aren't like them and only support fighters who fit their color and nationality like Frank Duckets/PRBOXINGCOTTO/BUDFR who are self admitted biased and proud of it.
B.2) they don't like fans who are obviously racially biased as the above 3 and especially those who wont admit the very obvious and that is that they are flat out racially biased which is something we already know.
C) they don't like a fighter who gets more praise than their favorite fighter
D) they don't like a fighter's obnoxious fan base
E) they done like either slick fighters or puncher/brawlers
F) they don't like a fighter when his fan base picks another fighter to beat theirs or another fighter who is a threat
G) they don't like a fighter who is obnoxious or overly arrogant or does things to disrespect others or the sport
H) they don't like fighters they think are ducking another fighter
I) they don't like fans who make excuses for a fighter or a fighter who makes excuses
Note: of course much of the above is excusable by certain fans if the fighter has similar features to the person they see when they look in the mirror
He seems like the nicest guy in boxing and has insane power. What is there not to like about him?
Because he possess a threat to their favorite fighters who are ducking him
RUssian is a perfect example of how illogical posters are.
He claimed I hated Matts because I said he lost to Zab and Devon. I rewatched Devon fight and admitted I was wrong about it. I maintain he lost to Zab. I also picked Danny to beat him because I didn't think he had improved enough to handle Danny's skills. He determined I hated Matts. WHen Matts lost, he wouldn't concede he was wrong.
No one hates GGG. SOme posters, like me, just think its ridiculous for him to discuss a potential floyd fight which is very unlikely to be made rather than fights with guys on HBO that can be made.
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
"Please "slick boxing fans". Love GGG. STOP insulting him. He's a really good guy if you get to know him"
****in females.
Nobody hates GGG except Frank Ducketts and Stax on Deck. He's a good fighter and I'll keep watching him.
He seems like the nicest guy in boxing and has insane power. What is there not to like about him?
I think Blacks are the one's who don't like him due to he's stomping all the brothers that he faces.
