Fighters lose sometimes. My example is Mattysse. Yes he lost to Danny. (his 1st clear loss). However, if you call him overrated now, you diminish Danny's win. I still won't pick any other jr welterweight against Lucas right now.
Same goes for many other fighters. Just because they lose, that doesn't make them overrated.
Then we have fighters like Amir Khan who still keep getting fantasy victories when they are clearly overrated. That's an overrated fighter. Broner too. Who the hell has he beaten to be called elite and put above Mattysse or any other proven fighter??
Just cause they're forcing him into a headlining ppv slot doesn't mean this guy is some elite fighter. His so called defense is a damn myth. Broner does nothing but stand in the pocket and outbang smaller fighters.
I don't think Matthysse was overrated. However, he was considered by his die hard fans on a level of boxing that his God given talent could not live up to. Garcia was going to win that fight because he was a better boxer. Matthysse had the punching power and enough skills to change the outcome but he couldn't.
Abner Mares was never given the hype that Matthysse got. He was KO'd by good boxer with a high KO percentage. There is no shame in that. People are quick to dismiss him because they underestimated the guy that beat him.
Broner and Khan are on a different level. Khan erroneously thinks he's the best fighter to ever walk the planet. He isn't. Broner thinks the same thing too but he still has a chance to make it happen. He is a lot farther from being the best but in his mind he already think he is.
I endorse this post.
SMH get over it!!!!! it's a 12 round fight you dumbass!! :bottle::bottle:
SMH you'll never prove it was accidental!!!! Never!! ''The truth is the truth and the truth hurts' That's why Lovci put me on ignore!! The truth hurts him too much! Matthysse has been saved from a similar issue against Vivian Harris and got a gift SMH!!!! He has a tendency to swell up and that's no ones fault but his own! :bottle:
I suppose this was accidental too eh??
This is the same guy that said Marquez is overrated lol hahahahhaha. dumbest **** I think i have heard in my whole life.
HOF fighter overrated hhahahahahah

Who got schooled?
He remembers what happened after the swelling... He doesn't remember the first 6 rounds of Matthysse outboxing him 5 - 1 (3-3 if ur desperate to give Garcia rounds)
After the swelling, Garcia took advantage of a half blind man... And that' suppose to be "schooling"
If you are supposed to brutally KO you in one, and you get schooled, you might be overrated. That does not mean they are bad, or a lower level fighter, just overrated.
And as for Mares, If you take a tune up and are supposedly top5 p4p and gets KO'ed in one by said tune up, that is a hypeejob, sure he can come back and win, but no top tier fighter should lose like that.
Who got schooled?
Nope, he was supposed to lose horribly and he won impressively, that would be him being underrated :)
I'm pretty sure Garcia is a hypejob now (at least by his groupies)
A lot of trolls weren't giving him any chance, but any real boxing fan gave him a solid shot...
What people forget is what happened in the first 6 rounds.
After the swelling occurred, which video evidence shows was accidental, only then was Garcia able to significantly break away
Now he's Floyd best opponent? Is swelling someone's eye one of his special skills, cause how the hell else is he gonna match Floyd when he couldn't even outbox Matthysse with out it?
There is a difference between a hypejob or getting exposed and losing,,,,,
hypejob would be a jeff lacy type,, somebody that gets alot of hype but has never achieved anything,, i think wilder fits this description
getting exposed: you have a fundamental weakness, that once is shown other fighters may be able to capitalize,, think pavlik and lateral movement hopkins did to him, and then serg knew the blueprint,, Or seth mitchell's chin,, once it got exposed as a weakness, everyone goes for it...
losing happens: guys like lucas, donaire, jmm, povetkin, salido losing to garcia,, these are not hype jobs or getting exposed,, they were just simply beaten by a better fighter on that night,,
some posters on here act like your a bum when you get beat, but not every fight is a draw, and sometimes good and great fighters lose,,,
Very true. Just cause Mares lost that doesn't mean he's a hypejob. Same with Canelo and several others. People on here are crazy and call say everyone got "exposed" when they lose. Not everyone is gonna go 45-0. But people here don't understand that. Most just come on here to talk **** about fighters, not talk about boxing.
Mares lost because he's never been in a position where he's been hurt like that. He should have simply held on and survived the round. However true to his nature, he decided to try and bang his way out of trouble. Now that that's happened, I expect him to become a better fighter.
That logic is hideous.
So, does the fact that Lucas is now overrated in your estimation, mean that Danny is overrated too because he just beat an overrated boxer?
Nope, he was supposed to lose horribly and he won impressively, that would be him being underrated :)
Boxing fans are so ****ing stupid...Just because you lose or have a close fight doesn't mean you are a "Hypejob".
I've seen people call Canelo a hypejob because he lost to Mayweather.
Jeff Lacy is a hypejob.
Seriously 90% of the posters on this forum are retarded.
Canelo was a horrible hype job, any unbiased fan knew that.
Acting like he is going to KO Mayweather and is the new face of the sport.
I don't know how you can say he isn't a hype job.
I just saw a thread saying JMM is overrated and always has been...If you can't realize how great JMM is,then you do not ever need to watch a boxing match again.
