Morality doesn't come from god, even though I will admit that religious people use religion to justify their specific subjective morals.
I chose not to get into a discussion of theology, suffice to say I was referring to religion as a moral structure, on a basis of its laws and instilled morals that outdate pretty much any other moral structure of mankind.
What you fail to see is that by bringing attention to it, people become educated. It's important for people to stand up against things that are wrong. So Cruz isn't brigning attention to himself just because he wants to make money, he is using his pseudo celebrity to promote a topic that is important to him.
There is a difference between garnering attention, and attention whoring. You are not making the distinction, I think.
Then you haven't read a lot of my posts. The main reason I don't deal in racism is because it's snuffed out in this place by the mods much faster than anti gay stuff. For some reason calling someone a ni66er is taboo but calling someone a fa6 is ok here. So I pick and chose my battles for those that need it.
Oh please, so much wrong with this. Seriously, I read countless racist things on here that the administration is sluggish at best to address. Pinoy racism tends to get stomped on quick, followed by Mexicans perhaps, but racism against blacks they are sluggish to stop, barring the word you so carelessly allude to. But innuendo? Other stereotypical ****? Its all pretty much fair play here, by how its policed, or should I say, not policed.
Oh, and by the way, the N bomb is far worse to say than the word f@g. The historical hardship that each word represents doesn't even compare. Any sane rational person would see this.
I've read enough of your stuff, I think. You're not exactly crusading about all injustice. You are selective. Which raised my question of personal stake.. shrug
People are coming out because it's more accepted. Stats would be incredibly deceiving because people that were gay were never admitting it.
Also, because you had one gay friend who was triffling you made a judgment on that? Very generalizing if you ask me...
I don't care when you take the stats.. Now, 20 years ago, or 20 years from now. The trends would remain the same, and what I say would remain the same.
Not just my experience with the friend, but also just logic. Gays basically identify themselves as having a female mentality. Yet their very nature makes it very difficult to get what they want. Hence me saying they are confused. And necessity of their nature would make them manipulative. I, unlike some of my religious compatriots, do not damn them outright; I just say they are manipulative and confused. Which is true.
Invalidate me as far as what? Being pro gay rights? I say jokes about gays, blacks, Mexicans, everyone. That is a joke, it's not the way I feel or treat people.
I was not speaking to you, unless that twit, Tase, is you.
Like I said, I used to be homophobic as a child and into my adult life, but no more. Years ago I decided to seek the truth in all things, homosexuality was one of those things that I learned about, religion was another.
I have learned much in my travels as well. We just happen to disagree.
I don't have any personal stake in this subject, none.
Not sure I believe that at all
Religion starts wars. id say its much more polarizing.
Im not sure he is politicizing anything. Merely combining two things he is proud of.
Your opinion is quite cynical to say the least. Why do you believe his only reason for wearing those shorts is for monetary gain? Why dismiss the idea he is doing it for a cause?
Just look at the prejudice on these boards and in this very thread. Its obvious gay rights are something which needs massive promotion.
In its current context, Christianity in the Americas is less controversial than gayness. If you were referring to somewhere else, like the Middle East, or a communist place, or some other place where Christianity doesn't largely prevail, I would be inclined to agree with you.
Maybe I'm being cynical. But I doubt it. He sought to cash in on his gayness, and its offensive to me because boxing is one of the last bastions of masculinity left in this emasculated society. You got cartoon characters cross dressing in freaking Mickey Mouse clubhouse, and high fashion models looking like 9 year old holocaust boys, all because of the gay agenda that has insinuated itself into this society. Bony women have been influenced by fashion to think they need to be super skinny.. and who runs high fashion, which all of it trickles down from? The gays! Give me a black woman with curves and a butt over bony chicks any day. Lol but that's another conversation, ain't it?
Then here comes Cruz, but its a moot point now. Old news. He got KO'd, just as I suspected he would!
Wow so much jewish liberal gay agenda white knights in this thread it's hilarious. Take your minority opinions and stuff them. The majority of the world and the U.S. for that matter still don't support your homosexual agenda
Proof? Blasting out the "minority opinion" card without any sort of proof would be a bit silly now, don't you agree?
He is taking it all a bit too far and using it to gain publicity.
Have you seen his ring entrance?
No not his bumhole you queers. His entrance to hype up the crowd.....

Why do you feel so strongly in defending a person we want to make fun of?
Because to you its just some fun, but it is part of perpetuating prejudice and bigotry against a minority group. Same as racism.
some is hate but some is just disgust
Disgust based upon ignorance which goes hand in hand with bigotry and can lead to hate.
The disgust of gays is in reducing them down as human beings to sexual acts. Yet, we dont do that with unattractive straight people. Therefore the disgust people feel is really about them seeing gays as unequal humans.
I believe in a lot of places gay couples cannot adopt as a family or make emergency medical decisions for one another.
Even though they're better accepted now... there's still things in place that work against them.
Just because they aren't being persecuted or getting their heads chopped off doesn't mean everything's fair for them
You guys are like scared little girls, it's amazing.
Get over yourselves and the gay issue.
Why do you feel so strongly in defending a person we want to make fun of?
are you a super hero?
If gays or anyone else that brings dumb things to the public eye... well then they are going to be made fun of.
I made fun of the kardashians today...do you feel a need to stand up for them too?
I prefer tomatoes like he perfers penis but that doesnt mean Im representin a freaking tomato to the ring.
I honestly dont care how he comes to the ring. Just dont try to defend him. Its annoying and lame
Still not a socially accepted norm. They aren't really recognized as married couples and i don't think the get benefits if they are.
At least I know in the Military, same sex couples aren't given the same benefits as different sex couples

Orlando Cruz started it by making a big deal about his preference when its really not a big deal, there should be no issue.

Im sure he will be trying to clinch and give a lot of low blows probably to the back of the head.
When cruz clinches the ref will probably spread them apart.

Gay people are only just being allowed to get married. Are you blind to the hate there is for gays?

If it is, it isn't to as many people. Issues of the Divine aside, religion serves as a moral structure. Even atheists can appreciate the validity and need for that.
Give them their rights. I am not intolerant. But Cruz, for instance is politicizing the whole deal, and stirring the pot of controversy for monetary gain. Nothing noble about it in the slightest. I got on Guerrerro for politicizing his religion as well, if you check.
Like I said, I don't go persecuting anyone. I am merely sharing my opinion on a message forum.

Bro it's not about disrespect, it's about opening your mind and seeing things in a different way.
My flag is important to me as well, I just can't be so arrogant to think that I have the monopoly of what it should represent.
Does Mexico only represent brown skinned Mexicans? No, it represents white skinned one's too with red hair like Canelo. It also represents gays people, tall people, short people etc.
My point is that with Cruz putting the flag in that way, it's not a disrespect, it's actually a show of pride he has in being Puerto Rican.
I mean I have seen Puerto Rican girls with the PR flag sown into the back of their jeans on their asses.... I mean, they are SITTING on the flag and it's close to where they sh1t out of...LOL
We can't pick and choose what we see as disrespect. He's not burning it, throwing it on the ground, or drawing some obscene things on it. He's just reppin it and saying "I'm a proud gay puerto rican man"
Excellent post.
Gay people aren't second-caste citizens and shouldn't be shamed because they won't hide their sexuality from strait people ("why won't he be gay in private? stop cramming it down my throat!")
He is proud of being Puerto Rican and proud of being gay. He's a minority in two ways and not ashamed to say he is either. He is rocking the rainbow for the same reason he's rocking the PR flag.
I don't see any of you guys attacking him for disrespecting the gay flag for putting the PR flag on it. And I don't see anyone attacking him for representing Puerto Rico.
Saying he's "politicizing being gay for monetary gain" is some Alex Jones ****.
