First off, Rios ain't winning, but if he did, its one of those times where the better fighter has declined immensely, and lost to the inferior fighter. Of course, you have to give Rios credit, but if he wins, its solely due to Pac's decline.

Rios got this fight because Arum knows Alvarado got lucky, he's no draw, he's weird, he's a drunk, he's the kelly pavlik of the 140lb divison, you can't place ur chips there if you're a smart business man. Rios got outboxed by Alvarado (a brawler) too for gods sake. Alvarado ran like a btch and was gifted a decision. close fight, but rios landed the harder, more meaningful punches. Rios wasn't interested in fighting a guy he already stopped and his preparation for that fight reflected it. He didn't train with the same hunger and it showed on fight night. He also had trouble making weight again and that could've taken some of the steam of his punches and stamina.
