"GREAT"
The word "GREAT" gets throw around too much especially in this current ERA of boxing, it aint but MAYBE 2 or 3 GREAT Fighters currently boxing, you have some who are future Hall Of Famer's but that don't make them "GREAT"
I agree with "Bum" and "Duck" as well!
Also "Hype Job" and "Overrated" are a few others that get thrown around a lot
I agree with "great"! Greatness has to be proven, but people nowadays just give that title to athletes. It really waters down the word and makes it cliche

Ducked is the only one that annoys me. Everyone is ducking someone now a days
Yeah no kidding. It's funnier when multiple fighters are calling out one of their peers. The fighter being called out fights one of them, now he's ducking the other 7 fighters hahaha. You can only fight one person at a time!
Now he's a "bum."
Of course he is, everyone that loses is a bum! (sarcasm) lol
You don't know **** about boxing
▼
Styles make fights
▼
Mayweather
... in order !!
"Styles make fights" is kind of overused, but that one is true!! Lol
Excuse me? You think about exposed bums a lot then? I'm more of a tit guy myself...
Sorry, couldn't help myself. But yeah I hate it when guys who are putting their health on the line for our entertainment are called Bums or Cans. Equally, how come it is no longer possible for fighters to just win or lose?
They are now inevitably 'exposed' or 'schooled' - (oh yeah there's another one - 'schooled') no matter how close the fight. Fanboy is overused too, though there are some irritating posters out there.
As have already been mentioned Hype-job, Glass jaw, Fraud and Ducking are all thrown around far to often. The way some people talk about fighters it's hard to imagine they even profess to be fans of the sport.
Ugh, fanboy is one of the most annoying. When you're a fan of someone, you're a dick riding fanboy. When you're not a fan, you're a hater. SMH
Young lion. Warrior. Saying "the sport of boxing" instead of just saying boxing. We all know it's a sport. Nobody says the sport of football or the sport of basketball. We just say football or basketball or soccor. It's not necessary to say they are sports because that's obvious. Mayweather started saying the sport of boxing instead of just saying boxing and others copied him. Saying wins by way of knockout. In the old days we just said the guy had 20 knock outs or he won 20 of his fights by knockout. The by way of was also not needed. Jimmy Lennon started that one. Cherry picked, weight drained are two more that are overused as is schooled.
Cherry Picked is a wildley overused word. I hate that word with a passion!
(insert name) is on PEDs.
Glass jaw.
Glass heart.
Ahh, the old PED claims. Does it get more annoying?
Getting Khan'd always got me lol
Taking a Cotto (knee)
Maybe it's just me, but I think it's extremely corny to use someone's name to take place of a word. The phrase "Pacquiao'd" is annoying as hell! Especially when a casual fan uses it smh.
Duck...coward...chinny.. Power...
As in punching power?
Blackeye... Everytime anything bad happens some announcer has to try to be cool and say "It is another Black Eye for boxing"
How many eyes does boxing have? 20?, 30? I am sick of that cliche!
Hahaha, that is true. And, do these black eyes ever heal?
Every time a boxer mentions a game plan and is up against a hard hitter somone always quotes
"everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face".
Like there some kind of boxing genius or somthing.
Lmao!! I loved when Iron Mike said it though :boxing:
Eurobum for any European fighter who loses or wins a vacant title.
Taxi drivers when describing the opponents of any fighter that fought in there own country instead of America.
Calling a fighter Slick instead of saying he holds a lot and fights defensively.
Good ones already posted but "WARRIOR" gets annoying.
Excellent choice! I find the term "warrior" applied to an athlete insulting frankly... Soldgers follow orders, they have the capacity to act as a warrior. You can call a soldger a warrior if they act ethically and at great purpose/self sacrifice.
There are many selfish athletes that are not warriors and there are everyday people who show that he/she is a warrior...a mensch. Mayweather fighting Canelo for money not a warrior. The Indian guy who stopped at a dangerous turnoff at the entrance to the Golden Gate Bridge when a car broke down, and risked his limo and his ass because he saw a women and baby stuck with non functioning car.....WARRIOR.
In Martial Arts we deal with trying to be warriors and it involves a lot more than just fighting.
"Bum" and "exposed" came to mind pretty much immediately for me.

CHAMPION is the single most overused word. There's only like half a dozen real champions in the sport.
Then we have robbed, hype-job, gift, bum, shot, ducked, ducking
Phrases: "My ATG list" "who would win" "**insert fighter's name here** is the next **insert fighter's name here**"
duck and hypejob.
rodriguez was "ducking" ward, until he got an extra 200K....
matthysse was a "hypejob" after wins over peterson, alexander, and a close fight that should have gone his way against judah.
